I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It's set in an interesting world populated by intriguing characters with their own motivations. I was very pleasantly surprised by the freedom of choice the player has, and I never felt railroaded into important decisions; there was always an option that fit the way I wanted to play. The combat is real-time with pause, and features a rune-based magic system that feels intuitive and flexible. I don't think it sold as well as expected, but it's a great game, and I hope that we eventually see a sequel.
If you enjoy CRPG's with excellent writing, immersive world-building, and revolutionary narrative structure, then look no further. I've been a CRPG afficionado for around 3 decades, and this game might crack my top 5 (for reference, the others would probably be BG2, Planescape:Torment, Witcher 3, Fallout 2, but that's just off the top of my head, don't hold me to it). Probably my only real criticism is the lack of fully-voiced characters. While some lines are (wonderfully) voiced, the majority of the dialogue is not; you will have to read to enjoy this game. One more caveat: while you have a great deal of control over character development, you are locked into playing a male. If you can get past these quibbles, you have a real gem in store for you.
