X-Morph: Defense Complete Edition

New personal favorite

I love TDs for the laid back/puzzle aspect of it and this game take that and throw it out the window while giving me a ship with different attacks for different types of enemies, expanding maps will multiple pathways and a fun story with more then decent voice acting. The only bad things I can say are nitpicks like countries army not having any color to differentiate them, nothing to unlock as far as I know ( apart for the skill tree that build up through the campaign ) and a survival mode that is great for replayability but gives you upgrade in a very weird way thats I personnaly dont appreciate. It could use a bit more music, even thought what there is IS fine. Also this game is blue. VERY BLUE. Hope you like blue. Sequel when? :)

Critical error on launch

So..I got the game for free but sadly it just doesnt start. I tried multiple fix and unofficial patch, nothing works. Cant be mad at a free game but I guess it cant hurt to tell others. Will retry in the future and adjust review if needed

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Fun story, great music, so-so gameplay

This game delivers on the story with nice voice acting, explosive setpieces and some really great music to help aleviate the pretty standard and dull gameplay. Gunplay feels nice ,but very limited guns + akward cover mechanic dont help a lot. You get some exploration and secrets, but only 2 maps are more open world with sidequests to do. Still really help to change the pace a bit. I wish there was an option to remove bloom. The duel mini-game dont control very well with a mouse. I recommend 100% for the price, got a nice 10h out of it. Could double it for a hard run and using the other brother for slight changes in gameplay/story .

Grim Dawn

Happily surprised

I played a lot of isometric ARPG since Diablo 2 and all of them were okay but didnt hit the same way for me. I remember seeing this game in early acces back in the day and just thought * oh well, another one* and passed over it. Finnaly bought its on sale since the game is complete and have big dlc expansions. I almost feel bad now that I havnt tried it before. The audio/visual feedback from spells and attacks is meaty and heavy, you can really feel the weight when you hit enemies. Body pieces fly everywhere and the graphics are on the good side. The fire effects I like very much :) There is a huge selection of builds you can make. Big talent trees and the choice to dual spec gives you even more different abilities. You can also choose where to invest stats point and there is another talent tree called Devotions which give passives stats and can improve/modify your learned abilities. The lores and texts are very interesting . I like to listen to npc's and read notes even in those kind of games and the devs definitly put a lot of efforts and passion in it. The voice acting was great and even if not all are voiced, the dialogue makes up for it 100%. I'll be honest, I thought the name of the game was a bit cheesy but it does live up to it. It's a tale of survival and it's a pretty dark one. The ingame notes are definitly my favorite. Backed with chilling atmospheric music in the backgound. Only downsides I can find is your hero is a blank dude/dudette since you can be any class. No amazon warrior or giant barbarian. NPC's will refer/talk to you roughly has * Hey , you *instead of something like * Oh ,glad you're here mighty sorceress *. Also with all the spells and effects happening during huge fights , I sometimes get lost in all the storm of FX. I kinda always roll my eyes when I see *What D3 should have been * ( I thought it was ok ) in reviews for ARPG but its the most fun I had with one since D2 that I played in the 90's. Cheers
