When I first read the reviews about Slain I was not impressed. In comparrison to Valfaris is seemed a bit less, but after trying it...boy I was wrong, I like Valfaris a lot but Slain? I like better. Gothic Heavy metal Gore and violence Nice kinda cryptic plot The game is pretty difficult also. Bottom line, the games good, get it!
Finally an easy action game. Your character is CUTE, the girl who accompanies you is also cute in a mad...comical way...and the best part, you have a thug jack <3 If you want a game with no frustration whatsoever, but action and a kickass cat that claws smacks, shoots with guns, and the collectibles are easy to find, this is your game really. 5/5
Generally speaking there is nothing wrong with the game, but...first of all im not a fun of this kind of gameplay and second, the main reason im talking points away is cause they did a 180 from the first game. I got it, finished it and all but thats mainly cause I wanted to see how the story colcuded. For the fans of genre, im sure you will love it.
This game gets too much hate. Sure for its time it could have better graphics, but its simple and easy, VERY good choice for casual players or people who dont like dying in games and want a non stressful game with third person combat. Also If you have a friend or a sibling who wants to tag along for cop op, your experience will be even better.
Cheers to the devs for giving the main character an identity and not making him mute or genderless/shapeless. The game has some brutal action, gothic feels dark AF, and I love it. Its on the difficult side without TOO difficult, and dont let the 'metroidvania' scare you, you dont have to look around all day for things. Its really well done honestly, 5/5.
The art is 10/10, its what initially drew me to this game. The soundtrack is very good as well. The story is simple and beautiful, it gives you a sense of sorrow and hope. There is brotherly love involved but I wont spoil anything. Gameplay wise: its a metroidvania, difficulty is to the easy side Id say, the main difficulty comes from controlling all characters, it has some problems like getting the final and strongest character towards the end of the game so there isnt much time to use him. Its a very ambitious game overall, it doesnt quite ...get there? Id say? But I defintely recommend it, give it a try you wont regret it.
