INDUSTRIA

It's way too short!

I didn't expect much when I started Industria, but I was surprised by how good the game felt. At the end of the day this is your typical modern corridor FPS nothing really special but the game environment and the level of detail put into the world-building make it a great experience. I really enjoyed following the story, exploring the city and learn what happened there. The use of physics to move objects to clear a path and the light puzzles remind me of some old-school titles that I enjoy. The graphics are pretty decent, and the gunplay isn’t so bad... So why am I disappointed then? Well because even though I took my time and read all the documents I could find, it only took me two hours to finish the game. Just when you feel like the game is going somewhere, you get an abrupt ending that doesn't feel right at all and that's it... No disrespect to the work done but to me it's more of a prologue than a full game and I don't think anyone should buy it at full price.

Silver Chains

Don't waste your time

It's your typical boring walking simulator with the occasional cheap jump scares and "puzzles". It's uninspired, short, forgettable and way overpriced for what it is.

Blocky Farm

Avoid at all cost

A bad port of a bad mobile game where you have to wait in real time for all tasks to be completed and constantly grind money and experience to unlock anything. Building upgrades are locked with cards randomly found in chests making them impossible to obtain. Also as soon as you get the cherry tree you can no longer launch the game. That's right, this game is broken and your save file will always be corrupted at some point causing you to lose all your progress. You'll never be able to see in-game what's visible on the store page screenshots. Thank you so much Forever Entertainment S.A. you've outdone yourself again with this one!

Immortal Redneck

One of my new favorites

Immortal Redneck is one of those new dungeon crawler / rogue-lite FPS hybrids and like many if not all, it can be frustrating at first but the more you play the better you get and what used to be hard or almost impossible becomes easy and rushable. The rooms themselves will always be the same with the same enemies spawning, the random part is the construction of the floor, the rooms that will be connected to each other. Therefore on one hand it’s bad because it makes the game much more repetitive but on the other it really helps you memorize the layouts and enemies/traps patterns and thefore preparing you for your next run. So what makes this game so special then ? Well without a doubt it’s the gameplay, when you start to get the hang of it the game become incredibly fun. You’re bunny hopping your way out, you avoid every attacks, and the monsters that seemed so tough at first are now a piece of cake. When you start mastering this game it feels so satisfying to clear an entire floor without taking a single hit. Overall I would say it's a very good game, the only downside is the end which is really disappointing considering the effort it takes to reach it but otherwise no complaints here. I have personally spent over 35 hours on it and wouldn't mind playing some more, the feel of the game is so amazing it can be quite addicting, I love it !

The Original Strife: Veteran Edition

Forgotten gem from the mid 90’s.

I’m a big FPS fan but sadly I never heard of Strife before, what a shame ! For its time, a story-driven first-person shooter where you can upgrade your character, trade with merchants, talk with NPCs and accept and accomplish quests was a really unusual and intriguing concept. Sure nowadays we wouldn’t consider this game to be a “real” RPG because of how light the mechanics seems but you have to give it credits for what was done in 1996, it’s a very interesting and fun mix of genres that does give this title a different feeling and atmosphere than other shooter of its era. With this remastered version the game now looks really crisp on modern hardware and support online multiplayer and achievements, however even with a new coat of paint it still show it’s age but don’t worry you don’t need any nostalgia to fully enjoy it. Nowadays the game still feel quite original and unique, just enough to be worth your attention. So if you're curious about this title grab it now you won't regret it, it’s cheap and worth the discovery.

Psychonauts

A Must Play

Psychonauts is without a doubt one of the best and most original 3D platformer ever made. Every detail about the game is so polished that it’s simply impossible to not fall in love with Tim Schafer’s work. You can only be amazed at the ingenuity of the levels with their incredible design and theme. Everything in this game feels so memorable, it’s so well made that after playing the game you can’t stop thinking about everything you saw. Who could forget the ‘Milkman Conspiracy’ ? It’s pure genius ! With it’s very interesting story, charming environments, funny humor, clever level design, beautiful art-style and overall theme; Double Fine Productions first ever game is a true masterpiece that you need to experience at least once in your gamer life.
