From a person unfamilliar with previous SC games in the series, i can't say if it's "okay" or not in comparison to them, yet there are 3 stars, but its' not a blind shot rating. When i bought this game, i had a middle-end notebook checked system requirements - should run fine, tried running it - 100% GPU load, 30 fps in space, and 15 fps on planets; Time passes, and there is a normal PC with GTX 650 - 100% GPU load, 60 fps in space, 20 fps on planets; More time has passed, and there is 1030 - 100% GPU load, 60 fps in space, 30 fps on planets; Even more time passes, now i have 1050 TI - 100% GPU load, 60 fps in space, 30-55 fps on planets. Didn't even change the graphic prefrences, just left them be (only resolution). Something is telling me that it's nothing hardware related, just poor engine and poor optimization. Will try again with 3060 on board. Won't expect much, internet is filled with posts that optimization is one of the worst sides of this game. The game overall should be okay, never had a chance to enjoy it normally. Buyers with budged PCs and graphic cards discretion is adviced.
No, honestly, you can't change any options in-game, even screen resolution is out of your bounds. Thankfuly, they did put some keybinding change possibility, but it's very recommended to play with gamepad, because in that case you'll save yourself some nerves. Imagine "Bard's Tale" (2004). Now put everything you'd imagined in D&D surroundings. Now you have an image of "Dark Alliance" in your head. I can't say that this game is bad or anything - because it's not - but with such a price they could not really have hope in such a lazy port, because it's basically a PS2-port with wide-screen resolutions support and keyboard+mouse input (and some ridiculous problems like crash to desktop while trying to use ladder from boss area to get back to town - don't be like me, use teleport instead). My overall impressions are "better than expected", but no revelations happened. The game is fine. The port is meh. The price is too high.
I love it. No, seriously, there is a lot to say about this game, but it's best for anyone to try it for themselves. It's fun, it's long enough, yet short enough to stop before you even think about getting bored. It's not an actual "reverse horror", but still makes you feel like an alien creep which kills anything in reach within underground complex. Overall story isn't completely finished, and it's hard to undertake everything it reveals, but still - are we here for the story? No. We're here to make pity humans squeal.
Starbound stands the best for me among all games of it's kind. Some says it's crunky. Some says it's buggy. Some says it's abandoned by it's creators. But not all of it is truth. From the very beginning, since Starbound has been released on Early Access in Steam, this game got through many transformations, rebalanses, changes e.t.c., but it's main concept never changed. It's about crafting and inhabiting particular planets, but it's still about exploring, and far more deep than any game of it's kind (hello, Terraria). You can literally inhabit and conquer every planet in the game, and make it your home. I sincerelly love Starbound, from EA to it's release.
Started my walkthrough in Prologue chapter several times, but wasn't able to finish it due lacks in equipment and skills. How many times did i die on final boss of chapter 0? I missed my count. Mechanics are well-made, RPG-system promises to be polished and shining as well. From this point of view - during Early Access - it's not much to do in-game away from Prologue. But with things seen right now, i'll put "Stoneshard" in line with "Exanima" together as most-waited RPGs.
There is much to say about DS I, DS II, DS III, but i'd prefer just leave with "gems" conclusion. Although this release lacks of some important expansions for DS I and DS II, which is kinda sad, but still there is no reason to lower rates for this games on GOG. Something is telling me, that they would be released here later. For now, i recommend everyone to try this collection, despite the fact there is no "Legends of Aranna" and "Broken World" included.
Dungeon-crawler somehow mixed up with "Lost Vikings". Let's just say, party-action-RPG in it's best. Quite rare graphics with voxel engine, in full 3D and rotational camera. Simple gameplay and controls system, world is filled with easy and medium difficulty puzzles and dynamic battles. Full voice acting, soundtrack is amazing. And very game is attractive as hell. Never saw it before, but with the first look i fell in love with it. Just give it a chance, and it will swallow you whole.
Back in 2014, i wasn't sure that "Mars: War Logs" will get me. This game wasn't perfect, as all other games from Spiders company wasn't too. But there was some kind of joy, and story was really exciting along with combat and enhancement systems. Now we got "GreedFall", but back then, in 2014, we had only "Mars: War Logs". "The Technomancer" is a perfect picture of how Spiders grows and matures. They had their own ideal skeleton for their products, and they just keep getting it more and more better with every step. Personally, i love all their games. Including the first one.
I tried to give this game a chance. Despite all reviews and critical notes about this chapter of our beloved oldschool "Tomb Raider" series, i was assured that it COULD be playable enough and even give some joy. But it is a definitely wrong point of view. Lara now is a tank, by movenent and ingame controls. Remember how she happily jumped all over the edges from one game to another? Forget it. Now you're trying to move a cow. Lara losing her strengh awfuly fast. Climbing? Pulling? Dragging? No more. You'll need to pull and drag something lesser before you can move something bigger, and every time there isn't much of a logic. Dying of gas? Chased by enemy? Don't worry, you need to find a way to "make Lara feel stronger" anytime you start another level. RPG elements is good, fresh breeze for the series of games like "Tomb Raider" - nice, but not in this game, unfortunately. It was the longest first level i've ever seen because of awful, slow character controls. I should get back to "Tomb Raider Anniversary" to renew my feelings regarding all Lara's adventures. Anyway, you wanna try it - you get it. But don't forget to wash your hands afterwards.
