Even for its time
Randomly glitches, makes your character run through a wall or floor, and kills you. This requires you to replay the stage you've been working on from the very start all over again - until you die to a random, unprovoked glitch yet again. At the very least, a game needs to function. Bare minimum.
Crashes. Do not buy.
This game looked so cool, but simply does not work. The developers have repeatedly destroyed framerates and repeated their mistakes over and over. This game doesn't work. Don't waste your money and have to wait weeks for GOG to refund it.
This game could have been absolutely great, but even for its time, it's instead just frustrating and confusing. If you want to wander around similar looking environments for hours wondering what obscure thing the game wants you to do next, this is your game. I mean this is YOUR GAME. On the contrary If you want a game that's fun and progresse in a natural, logical, entertaining way, look elsewhere.
I don't generally submit reviews unless a game is either really fantastic or really terrible. Amid Evil is the former - it's positively excellent, especially if you like classic 90s style shooters with modern controls and features. I highly, highly recommend this.
I've played Diablo 2 (as well as 1 and 3) off and on for two decades! This game is fantastic. So much depth, so much to do. It's the best Diablo style game I've played, and I've played an absolute plethora. Get it.
This game could've been fantastic, but waiting a full minute to load after you die for some cheap reason is torturous. There are better ways to make yourself miserable. Controls aren't good, game isn't fluid. Should have been a mix Painkiller, CoD Zombies, and a little Battlefield 1 .... but instead is steamy trash. Fun. Sometimes. Don't pay more than a dollar or two if you even choose to subject yourself to this.

Like a full ⅓ or or GOG games I've had (about 60) this game has horrible technical issues. It consistently freezes to the point that I have to hard reset my computer by cutting the power - not even task manager will work. It's a fantastic game thats been utterly ravaged by these issues. Don't treat yourself like this... you're better than that. Pass on this game. Actually, pass on most GOG games because they're wrecked.
