A bit over the top towards the end, and not as cosy as some of the earlier games (like #3). Really good series overall, with great voice acting and some great music (specially #3). This last one has great voice quality, while the earlier games has some distortion and uneven volume here and there making them sound old...which they of course are... You need to play all the games in the correct order, or it won't make much sense!
Very good adventures, with some good logic and puzzles, thankfully! You almost feel like a detective when you go to your pc (not irl, but inside the game) to search the web for clues, or hack into someones mail, and try to put the pieces together. Interresting story where you help ghosts to the other side, and try to stop some bad people. Play them in this order: - The Blackwell Legacy - Blackwell Unbound - The Blackwell Convergence - The Blackwell Deception - The Blackwell Epiphany (not included in this bundle) First two games are very short, and almost feels like a demo or something. Third game is very polished, long game, and has the greatest music! Very soft jazz and piano and some electronic, really great stuff! Now I'm gonna start playing the fifth and last game, very excited!
Very immersive and creepy, but without cheap jumpscares. Plays great with a controller, probably a bit harder with mouse/keyboard. I don't know how many times I looked at a walkthrough, just to know how to proceed. VERY much trial and error and exact timings are needed, and I don't like such games but still felt this was entertaining cause the immersive setting and environments, and the short playtime (maybe 5-6 hours for me). Save system was the worst! It does automatic quicksaves pretty often, but many times I quit the game, just to realise that when booting it up again I hade to replay several minutes, several challenges, just cause the whole level was restarted. I never really grasped when those new levels appeared, so was a bit nervous everytime I started the game, just to see where I would have to start from...
Relaxing and slow paced game that you mostly spend in the nature, on an idyllic tropical island. You can't die in the game, and it saves automatically whenever you quit, so no trouble with save points or such. No action - nothing is timed, you just walk around and pick up the camera to photograpy/identify animals, click a button to pick up trash or fix broken things, and talk to people. The only thing that can be a bit tricky is when you need to photograph flying birds - tracking them with the camera to keep them i focus when you take the picture can be a little bit challenging, but never frustrating. Story is simple - you and your friend try to save a nature reserve, and help the animals. Maybe around 5-6 hours long, and when you are done with the story you can continue to explore the island and finish all objectives (if any left) if you want to.
Very good looking game, but also very demanding! With all on max @4k I had to use DLSS Performance to get stable 60fps on my 4070. You can tweak loads of settings, like chromatic aberration, distortion, grain, walking speed, fov, run/crouch hold/toggle and so on. I just walked around for 10 minutes and decided I will buy this later on - it's very athmospheric, and it'll be interesting to see where the later stages takes you. Probably more of a demo/concept/experience than a proper game, but why not try something different :)
Mostly very frustrating finding your way around. The minimap doesn't help much, and walking around on foot is like a maze! You can't pass the lowest of obstacles, and there will be lots of walking around and around and around to get where you want. Often you'll have landed on the wrong parking spot (usually 2-3 different ones around the spot you are going to) and then you need to get back to the car and land on another parkingspace 100 meters away. Then out again and walk around these maze-like paths, sometimes with elevators to make it even more of a hassle. Sometimes, while looking for the correct way, you might see a 1 meter opening somewhere - enough for even the biggest of persons, but no way to squeeze through those! Except all these traverse/transport/map-problems the game feels good, with very nice music and good voice acting and a cool athmospheric setting. Slow and relaxing, no rush and no action... ...as far as I got anyway, I gave up though after a few hours, looking for some machine that couldn't be found...
Very very slow game - lots or reading notes/books that you find while exploring the islands, and those are not voice acted. No puzzles or problem solving. First half it all feels extremely boring - but later on in the game you get to know who this ghost is and start getting curious about what happened in the past. In the end the game is alright - it's a very serious/sad/mature story. The graphics are sadly very ugly I must say - not nostalgic/retro/pixelart or anything like that, it just feels very low budget. Yet it is very demanding - prepare to have a 4070 or similar for max settings at 4k! Sounds and voice acting are better in my opinion, the GUI is easy to use, and the game autosaves sort of all the time. Apparently there are 4 different endings, depending on dialogue choices during your playthrough.
Amazing, even in 2024! I'm halfway through (I remember the last part sucks more or less) and I've had soooo much fun! The graphics really hold up, even if the HDR is kinda overdone. The voice acting and sounds are great, and the dialogue are very funny/ironic/cheesy. Very good tension sneaking around in the dense jungles! The AI beats the crap out of most modern shooters - they retreat to find cover, they flank you, they call for backup, and they don't always know where you are. You can try to fool them by throwing rocks, or sneak to another location. VERY sandboxy and fun! Also great physics on many objects - probably more/better physics than most newer games! Definitly not Crysis-level though! I installed the widescreen mod, which fixes what it should as well as some other minor things. Also add "\r_hdrrendering 1" and "\r_fsaa 0" to get HDR, and something else to get better viewdistance (google it!). Had some crashes that lock pc so I had to log-out, but it's a real old game so...
