I hate Formula One. I only play arcade racers. If I want to drive realistically, there's a car parked outside. People like sim racing? Good for them – I consider that work, not gaming. With that out of the way: I adore this game! I played the first demo on Steam for hours. Skipped the second demo because I already knew I wanted it. This is everything I hoped for – and I haven’t even touched story mode yet, just ran time trials. I usually don’t buy games day one and rarely at full price, but at 20 bucks this is a very fair deal. I saw reviews and even some Discord comments complaining about the controls, so I felt like leaving my take. When I played the demo, I was dead last in my first race. It took me roughly an hour until it clicked. If the devs add sensitivity options – cool – but I honestly don’t think it’s necessary. Lift before the corner, nail the turn-in, then go full throttle from the apex. I know exactly what people mean because I’ve been there, and I’m by no means a great racer. Keep trying – don’t give up too quickly. The game will reward you once it clicks. Running this on Bazzite (~SteamOS) with Proton 9.0-4 via Heroic Games Launcher. Works flawlessly, so I’d expect it to run great on Deck as well – it doesn’t seem too resource-hungry. I hope this sells a ton of copies – the devs really deserve it.

It's Wasteland, what's not to like? Preordered despite the fact you should never preorder. Bit disappointed coz bugs. And controls. And localization (German in my case). Seriously people, give me a job, I think I can do this equally badly. Anyhow, upon announcement I was quite ecstatic when I saw this has controller support. After playing for the 1st hour there's not that much ecstasy left. Of course it is not a typical controller game but this could have been done better anyhow because it just feels wrong and requires some tweaking. I hope it gets a couple of much-needed updates soon, but how this got released in its current state is a mystery to me. One more thing, but this is just personal preference. The graphical style seems a bit unsuitable to me. Wasteland should be more...gritty. Three nostalgia points now, bumped up to five once patched. After all it's Wasteland.

I've always had an eye on this one and when it got released with a nice 75% launch discount I thought I could finally give this a try. Only played a couple of minutes now, but I am quite disappointed, to be honest. I know you have to keep your expectations in check when it comes to such relatively low budget productions, but this really feels and looks like a cheap game, even considering its age. I wanted to like this, but there are so many good games out there that spending valuable gaming time with it feels like a waste. Give it a chance when you're in dire need of a 3rd person RPG fix and have absolutely nothing else to check out. Apart from that, there are way better options. I'd much rather start the umpteenth playthrough of TES Oblivion or finally start Dragon's Dogma (to name just two better alternatives here on the platform) than play this any further.
