Last time i played Diablo again, must have been when i bought it on GOG. It still had it's (incredible) creepy charme, but that low resolution and some aspects made me quit really fast. I mean, it have been over 20 years at that point, when i played the vanilla the last time. Some memories should stay memories.... Now, GOG released the modded version, the mod itself went over my heady all these years. And... I am HOOKED AGAIN! Widescreen, high resolution, new content. Really good! [For modern gamers and first timers basically the definitive way to experience Diablo 1] I totally forgot how hard that one was and how creepy the dungeons and sound is. An all those beautifully drawn items! Sure, the game "feels" still old regarding controls and character movements, but playing it feels more convenient now and it looks kinda gorgeous even? Give it a try, you might find yourself playing past midnight again :) Also: Check out the Dungeon Keeper mod :)

Playing this game for a few years now, liked it back then as well. This game is for the heart. It takes itself serious enough, has some neat little additions, the unit management is great - I really like the user interface, the music, the depth to all... The UI is MUCH better than EE1, while EE1 is just a little bit more flavoured in its overall design and presentation. EE2 "looks and feels sometimes too clean" if you know what i mean. I just had the feeling that the missions are sometimes harder ? even tough a lot of players seem to have no issues at all ? haha ... well yeah. its a really good older rts that still can be enjoyed to this day. Get the 1.5 patch and put up some coffee.
Take the "negative reviews" kinda serious but there is this thing: This game has charme and i totally enjoyed my time with it. If you figure out the overall pattern, it becames a bit lamer, but not really bad. There is no deeper strategy and all, right - but its also kinda a strong point. Basically: If you want to play some isometric classic gangster game - but dont want to spent much time into learning mechanics, figuring out tricks and strategies and all - its actually pretty neat. The visuals are also kinda charming, older computers can run it. This game will never be "a good old game" or be MORE than average, but its a bit unfair to call it garbage. The price-tag is a bit too high though. Get it on sale. 2.5 out of 5, tending to 3/5.

The reviews are right: This game is really not good. But its solid. The humor (units say stupid stuff sometimes) can be cringe at times- and it really is totally far from the Empire Earth name - but dont be fooled: There is some value to it. The conquer-mode is fun, you have a solid classic RTS experience and is not even ugly (!). The visuals can be charming - but more on a generic way. In 2023 this game feels actually quite better. But even back then i had some good fun with it - while constantly checking the box to make sure its an EE-Game. This game really wanted to be fun and edgy and totally missed his core audience. If you are done with most classic RTS and just need something not too deep but still solid and fun - honestly, go for it.

[Retailversion] So, finally! The devs were big fans of the sourcematerial (The Black Eye, a german Tabletop-Classic from the 80s, kinda like D&D) and crafted a beautiful game here. Its a great old-school RPG that will be worth your time and money. The game can be rough and hard at times, so keep an eye on skills, talents and classes. But if you start to figure it out, it feels rewarding. Kinda like the first Dragon Age if you will. A modern german classic. The game is set in the world of THE BLACK EYE on the continent Aventuria. Your adventure revolves around the city of Ferdok. The world is fully fleshed out, with a lot of history and lore behind it. You move via a map, so its not open world, but it does not need to be. I replayed it like 2 years ago on Win10 and it worked like a charme and i had a lot of fun. Srsly! The look maybe a bit stiff nowadays, but still charming. Sound, music, story, world... Just perfect. Still sad about the fact, that this game was so underlooked back then. Make sure to check out the sequel "The river of time".

Personally 5 Stars. It runs also well on Win10. Yet: The game is a bit slow at first and got a "different" pacing. Most reviews actually tells everything, but i might add some toughts. So this game is actually pretty smart designed: There is no real tutorial, but the game will explain in short texts what the little elements means, WITHOUT annoying you to death with the 1billionth movement tutorial. You basically play the first 10 minutes regulary with just learning the different mechanics to most ARPGs. This is the first time in YEARS i actually spent reading tutorial material and it was good. Then there are a lot of rewards in the game like gold-stashes, heal-towers, explosives - so you get some levitation from bashing monsters. Its also fun to KNOW that there is something happening around you. There are options to regulate how the next game you start will went on, how you want your challenge, even small things like controls and the ability to just use/switch items WHILE talking to a vendor. So this game is not a big studio game and you can tale by the way the game is designed in the sense of ... how everything looks, is being animated and so on. Not horrible, but chunky enough (!) to see, that this game is not your well oiled Diablo3. Must say i am super impressed and appreciate the little things. Its a fresh bit of air in that otherwise stale ARPG segment. I bought this game like a year ago but now due to corona i had time to dive in. And i wish i had done it before. This game should get a Switch-Port!

Bought in on release for 2,99 which is a daylight roberry basically. Those games are great, but other people will probably deliver a better insight review. Dungeon Siege 1 & 2 are still some solid enjoyable Action-RPG. You click things, they die. Soundtrack, world, the right balance of the mechanics behind the game - it just runs well. It will have also some challenge here and there. Dungeon Siege 3 was from another dev and feels completeley different - but its also here in its complete package and thats good if you´re done with 1&2. DUNGEON SIEGE 1 IS MISSING ITS EXPANSION PACK "LEGENDS OF ARANNA". DUNGEON SIEGE 2 IS MISSING ITS EXPANSION PACK "BROKEN WORLDS" So ... DS 1 usually had issues with Windows 10 but the GOG Version runs just perfect ! Which is a big plus. So you will get a ton of fun here. And that is the BIG PLUS here: You can just go and play that really good game and have fun. But the expansion are needed to play some of the really great mods - and they also have story-content ... I hope GOG delivers those AddOns later on. Otherwise be aware that they are not here. The whole package is actually a 5 Star thing, but i CANT give it a low rating because it would not deserve it either. So 4 Stars as a middle-rating.
