The Legend of Kyrandia (Book One)

Dated but charming

I have all three Kyrandia adventures and this is the most dated (I would recommend Kyrandia 2 HOF which I still go back to and play even to this very date). This one has got a maze, impossible puzzle (try to find that gem on one of the screens that is hidden in the grass to name one). But also a lot of humor (even though I played it many years ago 'another big sign but no front door') and the absolutely lovely music that all three have. This is a charming fairy tale from an age when adventures where right at the top of most beautiful and expensive games. If you like those and don't mind looking in a helpthrough from time to time and can overcome one maze then I can really recommend it (and if you like this one you probably want to play the other two also).

Zork: Grand Inquisitor

One of the best adventure games ever

This sure tops my list of best adventure games. it is difficult to compare it to others, fairly, since all were released at a certain time and limited by the available technology. However I think ZGI is still very playable. I bought it (even though I own the disk version) just to see how it looked again and found myself playing it today for a few hours. Obviously the graphics are a bit dated but due to the FMV and 360 degrees panoramic view still very playable. The scenery itself is beautiful. Clearly a lot of effort went into making this game, famous actors, no tedious stuff. Puzzles are logical contrary to most adventures of that time which is important to remember. When I first played the game I thought it was hard however in hindsight that might be because i often tried every inventory item on everything (as was standard in those days). Playing it today I realize that there is no need for that, puzzles do make sense however it is important to listen what people say and read everything you can (and remember the details). Good music, great humor and an enchanting environment. Highly recommended. This game is pure magic.. Wait a minute did I say magic I meant technologically this is a very good game , nobody needs magic anymore, please I really don't like to be to...

The Legend of Kyrandia: Hand of Fate (Book Two)

One of the best adventures

I agree with the other reviewers this was definitely the best game in the series. In 1 you had to map mazes and I remember a gem hidden in the grass that you couldn't see. Three was just extremely tough. I liked them all three though. But two is certainly one of the best and one of my all time favorite adventure games, the beautiful music, the colorful graphics and.. Zanthia of course. A magical adventure that I sometimes like to play up until this very day.

Wizardry 8

Great RPG very versatile

I played this many years ago (when it actually was already a bit dated). However even so I really enjoyed it. The only thing were the very long fights (which I found more annoying in the beginning). Very nice RPG. Lots of very different items you can find use and I believe you could combine together. You have a group of very different characters which make the occasional comments and have different skills. I like RPG's where you can do a bit more than fight/fetch and bring item.
