In my opinion, this is the best piece of the series. Incredible atmosphere, quite scary and dark (dealing with dead children, murder victim and very sad and grim townsfolk). An adventure game with RPG apects, where you continue your journey as a Hero to Mordavia (kinda dark slavic setting this time). Narrated by John Rhys-Davies (Gimli in Lord of the Rings trilogy).
I played the original Baldur`s Gate around 15 years ago, so I don`t remember everything, to compare how is EE faring compared to original. It is running okay, some bugs are fixed, I encountered some new. It also implemented new sub-classes, which were introduced originally in the BG2. This is nice. In general, I think this version is a bit easier, I found more enchanted weapons. On the contrary, there are some weird "updates", like changed the names of some items (Boots of Speed, for example). I didn`t have the opportunity to play all the additional content, but Neera is fine (I missed some usable mage) and Dorn died the encounter we should meet. In general, this is okay. When on sale, like right now, go get it.
