As other LoK it is amazing story. But I dont thik I ever saw worse camera in any game ever. All of the difficulty is comming from the camera, exploration is ruined by the camera, half of the time you are walking blind, becasue camera decided you have to look backward. Sound mixing is also bad, several sounds are too loud and drown dialog. Genuently just watch video of the cutscenes for the story and scip the game. If the do remaster, I will buy it on codition the camera is reworked.
The game has its flaws, but overall I had fun. Its reputation is much worse then it deserve. Storywise it is probably the worse Legacy of Kain game (but that is high target to pass) but gamewise I had more fun than the first soul reaver.
Really solid and entertaining game. If you like old action movies this is a game game will make you feel like an action hero from one of them. The only bad things I can say is that it is relativbelly short with limited weapon and enemy variety with shotgun being pretty much useless.
Probably the worst controll to any game I ever played. I know it is old, but even the games from same era have better controll. Pretty much all of the game difficulty is from you having to fight controlls.
I bought it once it came to GoG and played it for the first time. I was exited becasue everyone was talking how great it is nad...I just dont see it. It is really bad shooter in my opinion. It is extremly long coridor berween boaring arenas. Most weapons are boaring and ammo is so limited that you cannot use the few that re fun. The execution animation are fun...for the first time, but you have to use them a lot, becasue there is extremly limited way how to restock on ammo. I cannot find a single think positive on this game. I will stick to Brutal doom.
The game is really fresh breth of gameplay. I myself never played anything like it. It is combination opeworld, resourcer harvesting, fighting and logic game, maybe with little speck of souls-like. The boss fights are amzing and fun. The game is looking amazingly. The voice acting is mix bag some characters are amazing some sound sometimes off. For some reason FPS sometimes drop a lot during cut scenes. and most importantly, you can pet a cow. I would recomend.
I am writing this as of version 1.1.7.1 it is great. There are things that need polishing, such as organisation of blueprints, but it is in very good state and I would say it worth buying. Playthrough through all the current timeline too me 24h.
The game staters as hell and lowering setting does nothing to help it. AI is visibly cheating, nowing your position instantly, being 100% accurate no matter what weapons they have, infinite grenades, etc.
The game look great, the setting is iteresting, but gameplay is horrible. The game forces you play ironman which could be fine, if the Zombies didnt sometimes randomly spawned in are you cleared. In addition becasue 99% of stuff is lock behind tech tree, you have extremely limited tool set which makes the start of the game incredibly tedious and you have to ether go extremely slowly or get screwed. I will try to get refund.
