Astebreed Definitive Edition

...BUT IT'S SO PRETTY!

I do not see how this game gets the ratings it has. It's not that good! The game makes like it has this really advanced mechanics, but then gameplay will most often descend to hold down sword swing and mash raidal homing weapon. You won't get much of a chance to use the dodging and focused homing shots, because you will be swarmed endlessly. Using the Hold&Mash method, I made it to the second to last boss before having to actually think about what I was doing. But it's not all bad, here's some good stuff: -Wonderful graphics! It looks like if Panzer Dragoon and Einhander had a baby. -Ace soundtrack! -Explosions are fun! -It seems to help with anxiety and depression problems just slashing and blowing stuff up. I bet Michael Bay would LOVE this game.

WHAT'S THE POINT?

This, along with Astebreed, is a game where I literally made it to the last level without ever having a clue of what I was doing. You can seriously make it to the end just by mashing buttons. Then at the endboss you die a lot because you have no clue what you're doing because the game did such a terrible job of conveying to the player what you need to do to actually get good. Not that you would want to get good at this anyway. It's boring. Once you've beaten the first 3 or 4 levels, you've seen all this game has to offer. Bland, flat, Virtua Fighter 2 looking levels, and bland, generic enemies. OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, again. We have Dynasty Warriors for that, son! In fact, at least DW has amusing characters and moves. Save your time and money on this one. The only things you'll get out of it are sore, red eyes and a couple of tired, athritic thumbs.

Metro 2033 Redux

MetrOVERRATED!

Next to The Witcher franchise, this might be the most overrated game franchise in the world. Where's the fun? I know we all have our personal tastes. But being held by the hand, and told what to do at every moment then suddenly given NO instructions and having no clue what your mission is because your mission file only tells you about the plot and not what you need to get done in the moment is not fun! Running back and forth, luring an endless supply of enemies back to camp so the NPC characters can handle them is NOT FUN. Stumbling around in the dark and falling into pitfalls over and over again because you can't see is NOT FUN. This game is NOT FUN. Stealth missions where you litteraly can't see 3 feet in front of you and have no idea of the layout, right, NOT FUN. I don't care how good the novels are, METRO 2033 THE GAME is pure eyesoring, aggravating, unrewarding garbage.

Megabyte Punch

Too repetitive.

Like the concept. But the repetitive combat and overly long, uninteresting levels really make it more of a chore than a game.

Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back

BEST...BUBSY...EVER!

The good news: This is the best Bubsy game ever made. The bad news: It's a Bubsy game. These developers had 20 years to find what good could be mined from the Bubsy franchise, as well as iron out the bad. This is what we got. Despite being made on modern hardware this game manages to maintain everything we all hated about Bubsy in the 90's. Choppy resolution, way too swift movement, poor enemy placement, jerky controls. It's like they were trolling us all along. I bought this game as a joke to myself, and to see if the programmers had learned ANYTHING. Well I got a laugh making my friend suffer through...but the programmers have learned NOTHING!

Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut

Still broken.

I was told that the game had been patched, fixing the previous crashing and control problems. I was misled. The game STILL didn't recognize my xbox controller, and STILL crashed whenever I tried to enter a door. Still richly deserving of being called the single worst port job of all time. SHAME ON YOU RISING STAR GAMES!

Zombie Night Terror

Nah.

I had fun for a couple hours. Then it just got annoying. Too repetitive. Hard to control your hoarde sometimes leads to frustrating retries. A rewind button would have been greatly appreciated. Not fun in levels where you have to beat the timer. Not reccommended.
