Not a puzzle, DRM multiplayer, No sticks
As another reviewer said, whoever made this game seems to not have an understanding of what made the arcade game Gauntlet a great game. In my opinion, it was these things: 1. The original Gauntlet was essentially a maze puzzle game. Each level had some clever about it, and good players could go through each level taking advantage of that cleverness. This game has none or very little of that. 2. The original Gauntlet was side-by-side multiplayer, with up to 4 people standing shoulder to shoulder on the same screen. This game does not support arcade sticks (or "just keyboard" mode), and is not tailored towards multiple players on the same screen. 3. The other multiplayer modes, LAN and Internet, by all accounts use online DRM. LAN multiplayer should not require connecting to a central server. One of the disadvantages of DRM is that if a server goes down or a company goes out of business, the game becomes unplayable. This game has that disadvantage of DRM, and from the perspective should either be patched or removed from GOG. So on those notes, this is not really a Gauntlet game in spirit, though visually it looks kinda like one. For me personally it was a waste of the purchase price, because I can't play it on my arcade cabinet, so for that use case I'll stick with the original game.
