Lucy Dreaming

The Monkey Island game we didn't get

First of all I can confirm that there is no SJW shit in the game which is very important. As for the game, it's easier than Thimbleweed Park but not insultingly easy. I got stuck a few times. Unlike Thimbleweed Park, you control the main character and 2 toy dream companions (you can have 1 each time in dream worlds). The challenge here is that you need to interact with reality and manipulate the elements of dream worlds. It is well executed. There are also plenty of hotspots to examine. There is a hotspot indicator but honestly you don't need it since the art style is nice and items appear crystal clear, I recommend not using it. Hotspot indicators are for decline enablers. The story is OK, it's a murder mystery. More importantly the story is there to support the gameplay and not the other way around. In simple words, it's not a visual novel or a brain-dead story-driven walking sim like most of the stuff nowadays. It took me around 8 hours to finish. It's an honest effort by one dude and his wife who easily puts Gilbert and Grossman to shame. If anyone needs something new to fix his sanity after the atrocity of Return to Monkey Island, this is the shit.

Riven (1997)

Timeless Masterpiece

Riven looks fine even by today's standards, it's timeless. Myst did not age well in terms of gameplay, Myst is the inferior game here. It was ok, but it felt like you're messing with stuff in an Amusement Park. In contrast, Riven's islands were interconnected and coherent. It's the epitome of thinking, and it's probably the only game that is based on the premise that 99% of people just see stuff but do not notice them. And in this game one who cannot observe, but simply sees, and is unable to perceive what he/she sees, cannot perceive and distinguish the difference. One simply cannot exist. In this game, I think that the words of the great Dutch artist M.C. Escher fit perfectly: "I doubt if the public will ever understand, let alone appreciate, the amount of mental gymnastics that has preceded the construction of such an image".

Return to Monkey Island

Don't bother-a-reno

Where should I *beeping* begin? Atrocious and soulless "art", awfully designed characters with hideous animation, island maps that look like a *beeping* Facebook farming simulator, simplified-ugly zoomer/tablet friendly UI and descriptions that guide you on what to do (forget about experimenting with the wrong actions to get funny responses), ridiculously easy *beeping* puzzles, nostalgia-bait cheap *beeping* jokes, cringe/uninteresting characters, insulting middle finger ending. I could go on and on, but it's pointless and a waste of my *beeping* energy, and hey, I also have a circus to run! What uncle-a-who Ron did to my cousin Guybrush, is despicable. I don't even want to think what his perverted intentions are for the poor crew of Maniac Mansion. And Thimbleweed Park 2? God *beeping* help us if I have any role in this... A friendly warning - Try to be kind with your reviews. While uncle-a-who Ron is a well known attention *beeping*, he's also sensitive as a snowflake and a "beeping" butthurt to the mega! We surely don't want to upset our beloved uncle-a-who and make him quit the *beeping* Twitter-a-reno permanently (again). Yours sincerely, Ransome the clown P.S - If it helps, I can re-write this uncensored

DOOM 64

W10 Clown Version

Why do I need W10 abomination to play a Doom Nintendo 64 1997 version? It seems that Bethesturds are more clowns than me.

Nice art poor game

I didn't like it at all. It's obvious that all the effort went to the pixel art and sound and that's about it. The story was ok I guess, it is what it is but it isn't something I will remember like Disco Elysium for example. The gameplay is very poor, there are 3-4 hot spots per location and there are no puzzles that will make you feel that you are contributing to something. There are only some pointless mini games that add nothing to the game. In the end, I felt hollow and that this "game" was sucking my energy and I wanted to finish it fast. After this I will need to play 2-3 real adventure games in a row to be healthy again. The only good thing is that I read it for free (there's no way I will reward with money developers for making adventures without meat, and by meat I mean gameplay). So in my opinion avoid it like the plague. PS. All of these talented pixel artists should start hiring people who know how to create puzzles and don't skimp on money.

Cloudpunk

Hilariously pathetic shilling

Absence of Good Old Games, absence of actual Good New Games. Numerous additions of anime porn games, endless brain-dead visual novels and the list goes on and on. Lastly and more important, GOG censorship reviews and deleting them to shill this thing... Even Steam don't do this kind of shit. You will never take another penny from me, ever! Pirate for life! Now I understand why Germany invaded.

Clid the Snail

Listen to the clown, Clowns

I'm not here to judge the game, it looks cool and dark from the trailer but will see in time how it goes. But it's worth to point out how these specific developers respect our intelligence and are being serious with their requirements and not clowns or MS shills. Even if the game is not so good kudos to them and respect. This is how you do it, simple and logical stuff. DirectX: Version 11, Windows 7/8.1/10 DirectX: Version 12 Windows 10 Some days ago GOG brought an unknown text adventure called "Timothy Leary's Mind Mirror" with a grandpa at the cover, a game from 1986. The requirements are, guess what? Yeah W10 and 11!!! For a dos game!!! This idiocy and hypocrisy must be stopped and the first to give this example is you GOG. First you release a bunch of low-quality porn Japanese games, next the clown situation with the requirements, interesting new releases of good old games are in absence, WTF is going on over at GOG? Have you lost your minds due to the pandemic? I don't know, the situation with your shop, it has been very disappointing in recent years...Anyway, the rest of the clown developers take notes and see how it's done right.

Trust the wise clown.

Don't bother with this pretentious abomination. Visuals are bad, like a Frankenstein mix of pixels and voxels. Gameplay is also bad, a Frankenstein mix of real time and "turn" based combat. I am disgusted to even talk about this shit. All in all it's a broken uninteresting and pretentious Frankenstein mix for autistic people. Listen to the wise clown and spend your hard earned money to something else. Merry Christmas!

The Riftbreaker

Unacceptable mindset by MS shills

Riftbreaker supports Win 8.1, which is also abandoned by MS and don't support DX12! Plus the game is actually DX11... I can accept this if it was a DX12 game but as it stands now it's unacceptable. MS shills don't deserve money, no W7 no money$$$ And to be honest the game is pretty generic anyway. Good luck with the sales shills.

Vagrus - The Riven Realms

Don't buy it yet

early access = alpha "full" release = beta 1+ year after release = Gold It has potential but is far away from being ready. Glitches and bugs, unbalanced and many many important missing features. Personally I would be ashamed to release a game in this state and asking money but it seems some people have no shame.
