Excellent blend of Bioshock, Cyberpunk, LA Noire and "dearest of all my friends", Max Payne. Love the setting and atmosphere. But don't expect a shooter - Nobody Wants to Die is an exploration game, a dystopian detective experience, a dark walking simulator. One you must play. :)
Tester der Review-Version und Outcast-Fan seit Tag 1 im Sommer 1999 hier. Habe das Spiel bei GOG gekauft und zitiere mich mal aus dem Test - ergänzt: Wie setzt man einen Meilenstein fort, greift die Faszination auf, entwickelt diesen weiter? Outcast: A New Beginning ist die Antwort auf diese schwierigen Fragen. Der Neustart erweist sich als tolles Spiel, dem die Gratwanderung zwischen Vermächtnis und Modernisierung mal mehr, mal weniger gelingt. Erwartungsgemäß fallen bei Outcast 2 keine Kinnladen zu Boden, dafür ist die Grafik zu bodenständig und der orchestrale Soundtrack zu schüchtern - obwohl sich hier neue, großartige Ohrwürmer zu bekannten Stücken gesellen. Das Gameplay wurde gegenüber dem altehrwürdigen Original komplett umgekrempelt. A New Beginning ist schnell und actionlastig, wobei vor allem das spritzige Bewegungsrepertoire und die bemerkenswert vertikale Spielwelt für Spaß und Entdeckerfreude sorgt. Das vielleicht Wichtigste für deutsche Spieler: Torsten Münchow ist ein würdiger Nachfolger von Manfred Lehmann - sogar unerwartet spitze! Ich hatte in bislang 20 Stunden sehr viel Spaß mit Outcast: A New Beginning, speziell bei der Erkundung, denn das Jetpack ist ein Spaßbringer. Und sind wir ehrlich: Die Messlatte für den Nachfolger war so hoch, dass Appeal sie unmöglich toppen konnte. Dass sie es dennoch versucht und dieses tolle Spiel erschaffen haben, verdient unseren Respekt und unsere Kohle.
Robocop: Rogue City is my game of the year 2023. I jumped in with almost zero expections and was blown away by its quality. Influences range from Wolfenstein: The New Order, Batman: Arkham Knight (precinct as hub with characters and relations; prisoners kept in the cells), Max Payne (dystopian, drug-flooded city) and Fear/Trepang 2 (gore galore, physics, destruction). The gameplay is a mix of action and investigation with astonishing love to detail. The devs simply nailed the atmosphere, setting, animation sounds - just everything - of the first movie. Kudos to Teyon! I hope that a sequel is already in the making. :)
Best game of 2022 in terms of atmosphere and graphics, no doubt. Just make sure you don't expect a fast-paced wopen-world shooter, then everything will be fine. :)
Cute little game for bee lovers, wasp haters (everyone? :)) and folk that wants to learn something about these helpful insects. The gameplay isn't complex, but music and graphics fit perfectly. Reminds me of Buck Bumble for the N64 - without the fog & shooting. ;-) Give it a try!
I'm another one who enjoyed this game one year ago when it was released at Epic's Store. It was one of the first mentionable games of 2020 - and, in my opinion, the best of the past year. With the discount (around 20 Euros für the game + addon) the DRM-free GoG version is a no-brainer for everyone that likes exploration with Metroidvania elements. The humour is epic, too, but that's something that depends on individual taste, while the game(play) is great for sure.
