Like the first one, same gameplay same mechanics. The technique is better : smoothers movements and displacement, it has more rythme that the first. The world is still unique, voice acting and story great but simple. Black spot : the part the village is really a pain in the a**. You had to go back and forth so many times to resolve the puzzles, it was so long that it got me out of the game. The ending was to quick.
Let me say it straight, this isn't a game for everyone. This game is slow, you will have to walk around and resolve riddles and puzzles. Don't play for the graphism either. Put that aside and you have a game with atmosphere (sound design and voice acting are really good), and a good story. You will meet several characters who will help you in your quest. Those are well written and add credibility to the world, who is, i must say, quite empty. But let's not forget that it came out in 2002. And then you will learn about Kate, through phones calls with relatives. Even if sometimes i was frustated by her reaction, this is a great idea that remind me of firewatch. In the end a good little game with a unique world and story, enjoyable, even if dated on a technical point of view. Looking forward for Syberia II.
This is the second part that complete the story of the first game. I love it. The music is great, especially the piano. On this game you will start where the first one ended. You will know more about the character, his story, and his life. I didn't expect that. You will face little puzzles, not to hard, not to easy, just well done and doesn't push out of the story and the game. If you liked the first episode, i recommend it.
The light of this game is beautiful making the atmosphere heavy. The story is great but short, like just a preview of what's coming. After checking, it's the first episode of a trilogy. I'm really excited to discover the following. The gameplay is simple and intuitive. In the other hand, you need to pay attention to your environment because it guides you on this adventure and you can be stuck if you're distracted. I look forward for episode two and three.
First of all, the universe of this game is really well constructed. I haven't played "the technomancer" yet, but i hope it will develop the world more. Even if the graphic's game aren't great, the work on the light really is beautiful and add a special touch. The story is well written, cheesy, even if she's spoiled by the talent tree (that's a shame). The main character is sarcastic as hell. Side quests makes you learn more about them and the world. You should do them. The gameplay is a bit tricky. Spamming the mouse's buttons like a retard won't help you. You need to pay attention to what's hapenning. When there is a lot of enemies, it gets hard because you can't counter all the hits at once. It take me 10 hour to finish it, but there is another path to choose so i miss one ending. You should play it if you don't mind the old graphic style and a good story whitout pretention, but well written.
Beautiful. I love those pixel art game. The music is really working with the story. Nothing difficult about this game, nothing to deep in the philosophical way but beautiful in what he is telling. He's not perfect though. The level design is sometimes confusing and I struggled at some point with the lamp and mushrooms mazen. It got me a little out of the game. I finished it in 1 hour or so. I recommand it.
Really nice. The game atmosphere is imersive, characters are well writen. The story is good. It's a real pleasure to contemplate the background. I was a bit disappointed because we had a really nice vocal intro right before the title screen but we don't hear any voices in the game. I was hoping for more voice acting. But that doesn't break the immersion for sure, mainly because the music is wonderful adding something unique to the story. Also i was a bit confused with the dialogue as a non native english speaker, they sometimes were hard to follow. It would be nice to have other game exploring the word created here.
