This game is many years old? The graphic is totally outdated because of this? Who cares! This is still a masterpiece. The feeling of world war 2 you can find in this game it's rarely found in any other game of this kind. I replay it about every year and I'm always happy to do it, maybe not about the sniper town mission, that is a pretty game breaker, but other than that, the other missions are just great. And we need to talk about the omaha beach mission? it's just taken from the "saving private ryan" main scene, and playing it was great about 20 years ago and still is. Maybe the expansions are a bit of lower quality, I found them a bit good than the main game, with some boring sections, forcing you to quicksave about every second you live thru without getting hit.
I couldn't believe that I got this game for such a cheap price, just a few bucks... I took it thinking "well, if it sucks, I will just delete it and I won't cry about the little price I paid" but instead I ended up playing it for a lot of hours! It's a Diablo copy like a ton of other games, but this one is better than many others I played. The graphic is nice, the characters available are very different from each other and all with their own characteristics and special abilities, making me try almost all of them, and I rarely replay a game after finishing it. The other thing that I liked of this game is that you can change the abilities of your character any time you want for free, giving you the chance to try every different combination you want without the need to pay ingame value or doing it only for a limited amount of times, (thing that I really hate). This freedom is great, because your abilities also can have different effects about the items you have. The game has different subgames other than the main campaign, to grind some items or just to have fun, the tower is a very nice place to spend some time slaying monsters floor after floor. If you like the diablo style games, you'd totally try to give a shot this one!
If you don't care about multiplayer and you're just looking for a solid strategy game, go for this one without even thinking about it. Space Marines and the Warhammer 40000 world can only get the love they deserve, and this game even if it's years old, it still has a good graphic and it's technically valid. The first game has a very good campaign, making you play against the other three races that are orks, eldar and chaos marines; this campaign also has a decent plot, with good characters and dialogues. The first expansion is a bit weaker to me, since you have to play with the imperial guard, eldar, orks and chaos space marines, I understand that they tried to make something different but the missing of the space marines is too big in my opinion. The other two expansions are without about any plot, it's just a conquest game with a little movies and dialogues only during the fight against the main base of the enemy races. Here you can see other races like necrons, tau, battle sisters and dark eldars. These last two expansions are fun to play also to try different races, and different from other games, here all the races have strong differences from each other, basically making you play a new game every time you try to play it with a new race.
I bought it without much of hopes but I was surprised by this game. It's not a masterpiece, but since I like strategy games that are basically 1 - build a base and get resources - 2 make an army and kill everything I enjoyed playing this game, also because it's very nice to fight with the mechs featured in this game, that are really good to see, expecially the giant ones that can crush buildings by just walking over them. The graphic is nice and there's also a nice story to follow with some very good characters, cleverly put together during the main campaigns, also with some nice movies between the missions.
The game has good graphics, the sniping system is nice, even if after a couple of hours you'll deactivate the sniping zoom that shows the bullet going from your rifle to the target, because it makes you lose too much time and gets boring very soon. The game is basically stealth, but if you get caught you can just fight making all the mess you want, you just have to be a bit careful because you can go down with few shots. The story is basically an excuse to make you go around the area to kill enemies and clear their bases, but it's understandable for a game like this, even if it could get boring soon if you don't like the system of cleaning outposts to get resources and new weapons and stuff. About the weapons, I spent about 80% of the whole game with the same sniper rifle, even if I unlocked many new rifles... too bad that they all have lower stats, and not just a little but by a lot, so it was useless to change the rifle... once I got a new one, it was without suppressor, making it useless for a game called "sniper GHOST warrior". I got a decent new rifle just almost at the end of the game. You can also craft bullets and accessories! That's great! Too bad that you have a load of money and you can just buy them all for few bucks, making the whole crafting really useless, never used it for the whole game, just tried it at the beginning. Overall decent to play, not a masterpiece but worth it.
