F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin + Reborn

Adecent sequel but something went wrong

Project Origin still holds up very well, it's a good game but some step back were made. the major downgrade from the predecessor is in the level design, the first game was linear but the combat arenas were more complex, that made possible for the very good AI to express it's full potential. in the sequel combat feel more predictable. despite this flaw, this time the game is more varied in enemy tipes environment and situations, making it feel less repetitive then the predecessor. the engine is very well optimized and still pleasant to look at. 4 stars for me. played on a lenovo ideapad 3 Ryzen 5 U AMD Vega 8 2gb V-Ram 12 gb Ram win 10. Tt runs smooth like butter on high settings.

F.E.A.R. Platinum

One of the Best Combat in the FPS Genre

FEAR is a very good game, with an aggressive and believable AI, satisfying sound and visual effects, that considering how old the game is, still hold up pretty well. the story is decent enogh to keep you going trough the Point Man journey, discovering the messy that Armacam company made. it's a simple and wll made old school FPS, the cons are that in the long run the environments tend to feel samey, and the enemy variety, even it is there, it's underutilized, the game would've beneficied from being shorter and more varied. 4.stars for me.

Risen 3: Titan Lords

Decent, but something went lost.

The final chapter of the series, is also the most polished technically speaking, is well optimized and runs smoother then the others, even with a way more pleasant graphic. But, despite lot of the technical jank was solved, something has gone missing. the combat is more fluid, with animations that are finelly decent and functional in malee combat, magic have casting time that is not unbearable anymore, so now magic is also fun and not just functional. that said, the mechanics of the game have kept the lack of depth of the second chapter, with all the weapond that feel the same, with samey anumations, no shields, no bows, and overall the game is also too easy, not only compared to other PB game, but in general. the story is decent, but less compelling then the one in the first episode of the series, in general is a technically better game but also a more bland one in the departments that made the first one interesting. decent, a bit then the second chabter, but worst then the first one. 3 stars for me Played on a lenovo ideapad 3 Ryzen 5 3500U AMD Vega 8 2GB v-ram 12 Gb Ram win 10 Worked fine, around 40-50 fps, with details between mid and max.

Risen 2: Dark Waters

A strange sequel

I fairly liked Risen, this one has a strange and unnecessary change of theme. the game feels more fragmented then the previous one, with less complex maps and a less interesting world. the combat system took a step back in variety and depth, still a bit janky, and this time the combat system also lost some of the the things that made the previous game pleasant if you where able to close an eye on the mentioned jank(less variety in weapons and combat styles, underwhelming magic system less enemy variety etc. i still managed to play trough all of it, but overall is an inferior sequel that do not make justice to the first chapter. 2.5 stars for me. Played on a lenovo ideapad 3 Ryzen 5 3500U AMD vega 8 2GB v-ram 12 Gb ram win10 worked fine, around 60 fps with detaisl between mid and max.

Risen

A classic Piranha Bite style of game

PB introduce us to a new universe after the one explored in Gothic. The story is decently entertaining, nothing unforgettable but enough to keep you going, there are factions wich the player can ally with changing the course of some events e getting the gameplay fairly different between different playthrough. As usual for a PB game, the title is also pretty janky: stiff animations, ripetitive character model and voices, and still has some minor performance issues and bugs, the combat is a bit janky too, but is also challanging and deep enough give the player a good amount of choices in moves and magic spells. the progression system and world building are the biggest pros of this game, if you are not too sensitive to a bit of jankyness you will have fun. 3.5 stars for me. Played on lenovo ideapad 3 notebook Ryzen 5 3500U AMD vega 8 2gb v-ram 12 gb ram. worked fine (around 60fps) all maxed out, just some stuttering if v sync was enabled.
