This game really give me some creepy moments and have a good story. The bad side is the protagonist, who deserves to be called a dumb blonde. She seems clueless and oblivious to the ghostly manifestations. The only thing she makes for herself is looking into mirrors and adjust her makeup. Even after she observes some creepy scene, her reaction is bland most of the time. Maybe this is proposital, but in my opinion, is frustating. The interface is sometimes clumsy (hint: to use a matchstick, take it and click in her face). If you like horror stories, play this game in a dark room and you don't be disappointed! Only don't expect it to be a elaborated adventure.

The storyline is great and the player identify easily with the hero drama. Today this is rare with all the Diablo close an such. The saga goes on since the medieval times. I remember that the hero was from the sixth generation, I think. In the modern times he was a truly formidable vampire. The plot really makes you want to save the girl, once pure, now lost to the paradise, from the evil who captured her. The bad about the game is the AI from your followers, who sometimes attack the enemy for their own initiative, ruining almost all atempt to stealthing, and sometimes engaging in suicide combat. The enemy too seems to have a sixth sense and knows you are attacking him even before he can see you. But these are small defects in a otherwise great game.

If you, like me, like to play magic users, Septerra Core is not the game for you. Magic and special abilities are fueled by "core energy", that is very expensive and scarse in the game. The combats are very repetitive, too, and if you leave an area, when you return (even if is a second later), all the enemies respawn in the same locations. That can become VERY boring. That said, the story is very interesting and original. Pity the game is so unpolished...
