I love the story and the characters. Shinji Mikami brought another great story in his particular style. If you like RE4 or other of his works, you should know what to expect from Evil Within. There's a nice combination of slow sections and action that you may or may not like, but I enjoy this dynamic in my playthrough. The ending feels just like the beginning of the story, but thankfully there's DLC to continue the story and it is REALLY good. So I recommend you buy the complete edition, otherwise you're losing a lot of experience. I want to point out how your performance might suffer playing it since the vsync is always active and tank your fps quite a lot in full screen mode. To solve this issue, I recommend going to the data folder and locating the "release.cfg" archive, it should be inside the "base" folder. Open it with notepad and look for "r_swapInternal", change this value to "0" and save. Now you should be able to play without performance issues. Although I recommend you cap your framerate on your AMD Radeon or Nvidia control panel since this change will disable the 60 fps limit. Overall, I like the game and I'm ready to enjoy the sequel! Note: You can disable the letterbox of the game inside of the setting by disabling panoramic mode. This is a personal preference, but I disabled it for a while in my playthrough just to enable it later on. It may not be a feature for everyone, but I just realized how all the elements on screen are designed with this feature in mind and once it was enabled, I just noticed how the experience significantly improves for me, so I want to point this out just to let you know that you can experiment with this feature and you may find it part of the experience too. Have fun!
I been playing since day one and to be honest: My experience was amazing! The main story is really cool but side quest are even better! No doubt Aldecaldos will be part of my forever. RPG elements are cool when your character take a rol on the city. I played with one of my friends, he chose a different path than me and the results were two different characters with many differences that makes me want to play the game again. So RPG elements are there. Just go into Night City and let the city consume you and be one with it, you will enjoy it! About bugs or glitches. Well... to be clear, my experience was stable 90% of the time. I have a RX 5600 XT with Ryzen 5 2600 and combat, exploration & loading times were smooth and fluid. No issues. After so many choices and see how those little details took part of my playthrough is when I started to notice scenarios like missing hair on some characters for a couple of seconds, random cars appearing from nowhere or some frozen textures. I have thousands of hours on Fallout New Vegas so that's nothing compared. Probably the worst part about my playthrough was when "I crossed the giant wall" (if you know what I mean) and music was stuck on the same track over and over, even after mission ended. It was solved as soon as I load a previous save and then music was synch again (to be honest that track is one of my favorites so the infinite loop was dope to me) I enjoyed a stable game with many details that reflect passion and love from devs. The story is really entertaining and weapons are really fun to use (specially the smart ones) but is not a game about violence or to shot everyone. It's about been a citizen from Night City. To understand what happen to the good and bad people when corporations are involve and how cybernatic enhancements don't make us different from what we are today. In fact, it will show you how human we are even if your body is 90% circuits. So go for it Samurai! We have a city to burn!
I played the game back in 2004 on my Xbox. I still have my original copy and not gonna lie guys, it's an amazing game. Probably the best combination of RTS and Hack & Slash out there. Soundtrack is great, controls are awesome (btw do yourself a favor and play with controller which is the original experience. There is a new M&K support but... it's not the same, since this was an Xbox exclusive). It worths the 30-50 hours it takes to finish. Wait, 30-50 hours? may you ask. Well, since this is an strategy game, depending on your execution on the battlefield, missions can be finished on 15 mins or take up to +1hour. This is where the game shines. There are many ways to finish each mission to get better results., for example: Maybe you wanna try to not lose troops or soldiers? You can do it! What about get more exp and gold for better weapons and armor? Go for it! I want to finish this mission which tooks me 2 hours to end last time but I'm prepared to face it now? Chaaaarge! Everything of that while you live a nice story on the background, which evolves mission by mission with nice characters. Give it a try and in case you like it: sequel arrives this summer to PC too! With the original multiplayer!
