I am sick of the lack of communication

This game is amazing, and I'm very sorry that I have to leave a negative review, but this is the straw that broke the camel's back: I am beyond frustrated with devs stealth releasing their games on GOG There was absolutely no marketing on GOG informing users that this game would even be releasing on this platform. So I bought the game on Steam. I was checking GOG all day yesterday and there was not a single thing stating that this game was available (or that it would ever be available through this platform) Then lo and behold, the day after launch on Steam, it magically appears on GOG. Luckily, I was able to refund the game on Steam and buy it through here instead. But this sort of thing is just ridiculous. I try my best to support GOG, but it's like GOG and devs don't even want to be supported. Honestly just going to stop buying games because I am so $%#ing sick of devs having ZERO communication about these things with their audience. The blame equally falls on GOG as they know the game is releasing on the platform but absolutely do nothing to properly inform their consumers. I am one of the bigger supporters off GOG that exists, I think my account is one of the top accounts on the site with the most games ownership and this sort of thing makes me want to give up and just go back to using Steam exclusively. Get your heads out of your behind, guys... Or hire me so someone who actually cares can work on informing consumers properly How do you ever expect this platform to grow or succeed? Utterly ridiculous...

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake

Still as amazing as the original

I felt compelled to leave a positive review after seeing that the only review for this game is a completely unrelated complaint from a whiny parent who is bad at parenting. This game is a true work of art, and one of the very few games that, still to this day, have used the medium of videogames the way it is intended. As a storyteller, the medium in which you choose to tell your story is quite important. A writer writing a book tells.... A Director making a movie shows.... A game designer making a game does... Too many a modern game don't know how to use this medium for storytelling and simply revert back to the movie medium of storytelling and simply show you things (cutscenes, scripted events, etc.) This is one of the few games that made me cry by doing... It moved my heart by making me moving a thumbstick... To the terrible parent who left a review: Quit protecting your children from things. It will result in the complete destruction of your child. I know it's instinct to be overprotective but there is nothing more dangerous as a parent. Also quit ruining game reviews by being a whiny snowflake.

Baldur's Gate 3

Polish upon Polish

Haven't played too much yet, but the quality of everything from the UI, to the cutscenes, to the control of the characters, to everything else is just next level. I can see how other AAA developers felt self conscious when seeing this. Not just any studio can make something with this level of care. This will most likely go down as an historic masterpiece of the RPG genre

Cyberpunk 2077

A major disappointment in different ways

I thought CD Projekt Red was one of the good ones. I preordered way back in Feb because I trusted them that much. Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red has shown themselves to be no different than any other modern Games Publisher and will lie and hide in order to get your money. Aside from that, the game is majorly disappointing. It hardly qualifies as an open-world game and is so painfully linear that I can't find a single reason to do anything other than the next story mission. Also, there are strange omissions within the game that hint at the product being genuinely unfinished. You can't change your hairstyle in-game? you can't get cybernetic bodily implants? AI cars are on rails and have no mind or ability to navigate the environment on their own? Maybe they will finish it eventually, but they will never get my respect again. I will also stop supporting GOG from here on out.

Ion Fury

Brilliant; Even Without the Nostalgia!

To be clear: I have ZERO nostalgia for the 'BUILD Engine' era of shooters. The first shooter that I can recall playing was 'GoldenEye 007' for the Nintendo 64. However, even without the 'Doom-Era' nostalgia that so many other fans of this game seem to have, my opinion is very similar: This is a great game... Fun guns, large levels, and a surprisingly brutal difficulty (if you want it) make this retro-shooter feel anything but old! With great personality AND beautiful art, it's hard not to recommend this game! Add to that, the fact that that it is DRM-free AND released day-and-date on GOG... Yeah, just buy it...
