Act of War: Gold Edition

Don't play DLC!

Game by itself is 10/10. My only complain is lack of subtitles. It's like Generals, but with improved graphics, more cutscenes and slightly more realism. Just slightly. ... DLC though... ... Just... don't bother. DLC is 100% completely UNPLAYABLE due to absurd level of difficulty even on lowest difficulty level. We're talking about situation, when CPU keep spamming tanks and artillery from all directions and you're not even allowed to train troops. It's not "git gud" situation. It's just cheating. I wonder if Devs even tested this, before release... Just ignore DLC. You will only get mad and ruin that sweet, sweet impression after base game.

Ghost 1.0

Masterpiece!

This is one of the most pleasant game I played since Aquaria (Bit Blot, 2007)! Absorbing story, lot's of action, fair difficulty, complex bosses, easy controls, beautiful world and of course great humor thanks to perfectly designed, animated and voiced characters!.. Why are you even reading this! You should be playing already! :)

X-COM: Terror from the Deep

What is TFTD?

If you already played UFO: Enemy Unknown (X-Com: Ufo Defense) you may wonder what is the difference between this and TFTD. Well, there are three main things. First - in UFO:EU you fight with aliens. It's a typical men vs spacemen comic book. In TFTD it's basically X-Com v.s. Cthulhu. Second one - TFTD is designed to be much more atmospheric, with creepy looking arts and 1950s-style horror music. Third thing - TFTD is extremely buggy to the level you can "break" your entire playthrough just by making research in wrong order, or experience your soldiers losing all gear in mid-fight.

Diablo + Hellfire

My Master's Degree thesis

I mention the case of Butcher getting stuck in the stairs in my Master's thesis about pathfinding. I presented the thesis at my university today - March 7, 2019. It was rated "A", granting me the title of Master of Telecommunications.

DOOM 3

This is not Doom.

Confucius used to say: "In Dark Souls you know you're screwed if you got stuck in a room with demons. In Doom demons know they're screwed if they got stuck in a room with you." This is what games like Doom, Duke Nukem, Serious Sam etc should be about. SHOULD BE. Because Doom 3 is not.

Far Cry®

Just too hard.

Don't get me wrong. I beat Doom 1. I beat Duke Nukem 3D. I beat Jagged Alliance 2. I beat all three original X-COMs. I beat Metroid for NES. And I beat that damn helicopter mission in GTA Vice City. And I'm telling you - what happens in Far Cry 1 endgame is just one big bloody nightmare. Gazillions of overpowered supermutants with rocket launchers and helicopters from every direction. I BARELY beat the game with all cheats enabled. Pity, because aside from that the game is really beautiful.

Empire Earth 3

Fall of Empire Earth

This game can always count on the place in my list of Top Ten Most Broken Games of All Time. But it has its charm.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Complete Pack

A toy for kids

I still do not understand how it was possible to spoil such a good game. Cartoon graphics? Two moves per turn? Limitations in the soldiers' inventory and the fleet of ships? Come on! It's not Bethesda! If you want to play the faithful successor of the Legendary X-COM, choose Xenonauts. In my opinion, it mercilessly crushes what you can see here.
