Drakensang

A Decent Fantasy RPG

It's obvious that this game is inspired by the classic RPG games, it has a lot of complexity, especially in character creation, game mechanics, and leveling, something that might put off casual gamers, but I found it very attractive. It's based on a German table-top game, so anyone who has played D&D based RPGs should enjoy it. The story is pretty stereotypical, dragons, chosen one, the usual shebang. On the technical part, the game has been very stable, I played it for 50+ hours without any crashes at all. On the downside, the character creating is somewhat limiting, classes and races are present, you can't play an Elven Elementalist or a dwarven necromancer, for example. Also, a lot of spells are race or class-restricted, unless you're playing with a human there won't be many offensive spells available for you to learn. I'm giving it five stars not because the game is a masterpiece, but because it's fun and relaxing, after playing RPGs for over 20 years I've learned to keep my expectations low. If you played Dragon Age or Neverwinter nights this game will feel right at home.

Disciples: Sacred Lands Gold

Very well balanced game

I played Disciples 2 before I tried the first part and at the beginning I was a bit put off by the ancients graphics of Disciples 1 (the second is also old, but it had beautifully hand painted 2D graphics) but after playing for 10 minutes, everything came back to me - the races, units, game mechanics are very similar for both parts. There are several races to chose from and when I say the game is well balanced I mean it! For example, each race will have spells that can be researched (let's say humans got lightning and demons got fire spells) which are flavored adequately towards each faction but no race is stronger then other really. This is a slow paced game, where both the strategic map and the combat are in turns. I works pretty well on Windows 10 I play it for hours in bed and it hardly spends any of my laptop's battery. The only thing I noticed is that it doesn't handled ALT+TAB, or beaning minimized very well, but this is a minor thing. It's fun, simple to play (in terms of game mechanics, it does require you to think ahead) and strangely addictive!

Gothic 3

Partially entertaining

This game is fun to a certain extent, however, if you have been spoiled with high quality RPGSs (like Gothic 2) this might leave you a bit disappointed. I'm quite sure that I would have enjoyed this game much more I hadn't played Gothic 2 a few years before it. With that mindset in mind (lower your expectations) this game can be fun, but to me it was never appealing enough to replay it - unlike Gothic 2 where I spent at least 500 hours playing it and I feel I would still love it after all the time spent on it.

Age of Wonders

Absolutely lovely!

From today's perspective this game may seems like it has outdated graphics, but when I first played it roughly 20 years ago I enjoyed every moment of it! The campaign is very interesting, the units are very cute (Halflings in particular) and there are some RPG elements incorporated as well. I can wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys turn based strategy games with a fantasy setting!

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

I am so glad I gave this game a second chance.

On my first try of the game I felt a bit annoyed by the game mechanics and I abandoned it for several years. Watching the Withcer series (the Netflix show) sparked my interest as I'm one of those fantasy-loving RPG kind of gamers. On the second try I really enjoyed the story and the quests, but I ignored the tutorials entirely and played without understanding company, alchemy, etc. and found my self getting killed a lot on normal difficulty. The third time was the charm for me! I took a bit of time to get the know the game and found it actually easy to play, on hard difficulty. So my point is, if you like this type of RPGs, give this game a try, you won't regret it!

Nox™

A nice little action RPG!

This is not one of those pompous games that promises too much and then you find it disappointing. In short it's a highly entertaining cute game, so if you're just looking for an RPG that fund without getting immersed too much, this is for you, I loved it!

FlatOut 2

Great for Stress Releif

This is something I played a long time ago and I would gladly play again! Crashing into other cars and catapulting your driver out of the car to do insane stunts is an excellent way to vent! Plus, a lot of juice metal songs on the playlist, which fits into the game's atmosphere perfectly. In short, a pretty simple and enjoyable game.
