The game initially seems promising, but after half an hour, you get the impression that it's all you're going to get. The visuals are nicely done, and the music is great, but the puzzles are not engaging at all. It's almost impossible to fail any puzzle, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but a bit more challenge would be welcome. The combat sections are also not very polished, and the animations look quite stiff. However, considering this is an indie game, overall it was an average experience for me. The €10 price is not justifiable. I would recommend buying this game only on sale. It took me less than two hours to finish.
The story and gameplay were fun, but the controls and camera are really bad. I strongly recommend using the 'Better Rayman 3' mod, which you can find in the Rayman GOG forums. It will allow you to use an Xbox controller in the game and play at a higher resolution.
Short game. Runs without any problems. I would recommend using a walkthrough as a guide in case you get stuck. The puzzles are a mixed bag, with some being logical and easy while others resemble typical 90's puzzles. I would suggest buying it on sale.
This will be a chaotic review... Pathing is bad. Your controlled units are very dumb, making it hard to make your units move or attack as they get stuck constantly. Keep in mind that we got Age of Empires the same year... But what makes it really bad is the stupid card mechanic in the game. You can spend 5 minutes building an army just to lose it all in 1 second with AI dropping some cheesy card. The missions are ridiculous... For example, the second mission... THE SECOND MISSION of the game for the Chosen faction is almost impossible to win. You literally have to cheese the game by moving the tanks to the top of the island to bug out the 7th Legion army to even stand a chance of beating them, and on top of that, once the enemy has 2 mechs left, they drop a ridiculous card on you, causing all your remaining units to lose 90% of their health (Keep in mind that you get no cards, you have to collect them, but in that case, forget about collecting anything). It's not even a 'get good' scenario, it's just a really badly made mission. But enough complaining about just one mission. A lot of them are like this... Honestly, they should have never introduced cards into the game. Attacking the enemy base is also frustrating... By the time you destroy the barracks, they build a power plant, you destroy the power plant, and they build barracks again. My point is that you can build structures too fast, making the game longer and more annoying for no reason.
Average game. The vehicle style is not very appealing; in fact, they look like they are cyborgs or something. It's very annoying to hit indestructible poles/walls at an angle because instead of bouncing off like in most games, sometimes you get sucked into the pole/wall, forcing you to reverse and lose a lot of time. Rubber banding is a thing in this game; you can have perfect laps, and they will still catch up to you. Also, the AI on maximum difficulty is on crack. There is a water bug, but it's easily fixable. So, in general, there's nothing special about this game. It could be better with more polishing. Buy it on sale. You can easily sink a few hours into it before moving on to another game.
