Warriors of the Nile

Really simple but cool looking graphics

Love the game

Styx: Shards of Darkness

Even more beautiful than Styx 1

but the story is less exciting and the are no relics

The Guild 3

Good game, but nowhere near Guild 2

This is a decent game. It is well thought-out and, at least for now, was a bug-free for me. It also applies to multiplayer. Developers certainly did their homework. Everything makes sense, pointless grinding was optimized giving players more time to focus on developing their strategy. Graphics is also nice .It is a pleasant experience. Why do I still return to The Guild 2, even though it is old and buggy. But it has unique atmosphere. I always immediately felt as if I was really there, fully immersed into medieval times. The graphics, the free camera and, in particularl, the music. I cannot describe how amazing they were. In Guild 3 these are just normal, casual. The music seems to be medieval, but is rather poor. Graphics? Better, but not as magical. Free camera? Sadly no, you cannot look throughout the entire world like in the predecessor. Guild 3 does not reproduce the same stunning atmosphere. I truly regret these flaws. I have the feeling that the biggest and toughest part of the job of developing a worthy successor of Guild 2 was done properly. It lacks some details, fine-tuning. But, for me, these details killed what I loved in Guild 2 and made this game similar to hundreds of others from this genre.

The Council

Interesting one, but critical unfixed 2-

The game has a nice atmosphere and good graphics. However in 5th act occurs a CRITICAL BUG that makes it impossible to progress any further. The player is left in the middle of the story. The bug is discussed in: https://steamcommunity.com/app/287630/discussions/1/1742227898985572533/ Even though the game developers know about at least it since 2018, they still did not fix it. I can hardly imagine the gaming company that treats players in such a rude and nasty way.

The Settlers® 2: Gold Edition

Amazing game and amazing memories

This title is a great strategic game. It is old and has pixel-like graphics but it still delivers. I am playing it since 20 years still listening to the same midi music. Why only 3 stars then? Because there is so much better title at https://www.siedler25.org/index.php?com=dynamic&mod=2&lang=en&PHPSESSID=2mi2eot2l484lh0pgfh2os7gj2 It is still the same game but in custom resolution (can support even 2560x1080), advanced multiplayer and many other stuff, though the gameplay remains the same. And the best thing - it is free.

Caesar™ IV

Loved Caesar 3, but this one is just bad

I bought it (not on GOG) and throw it away after a couple of days, which I rarely do. I am (still) playing Caesar 3 and I love its mechanics. It lets you feel those ancient times and it also offers very challenging economy model. Caesar 4 is different however. Many game titles were screw up by adding 3D graphic into them (Worms being the best example). The same goes for Caesar 4. I was so tired by rotating my buldings and trying to properly choose build location for them. For me, this game is more about proper clicking and dragging than about designing and implementing your strategy. If you care more about gameplay than about graphics, this may not be the best choice for you.
