With just 3 chapters completed I can say this is a masterpiece! Great atmosphere, captivating story with plot twists in every corner and great music! Can't wait to see how this story concludes. Don't miss it, don't wait for sales. It worths every cent even in full price, despite of being relatively short as it seems. Works of such love and inspiration from the developers should be awarded.
Nice isometric action game, delivering the atmosphere of Alien movies
I played Riven after Obduction, because I was looking for a similar strong experience. I had played RealMyst a couple of years ago. Riven is an awesome game that you can't miss if you are in this kind of adventures. It's unbelievable that this game still looks visually amazing 23 years after its release. Besides the breathtaking landscapes, the Riven is rich in story and the puzzles are absolutely logical, but at the same time very challenging. You have to observe everything very carefully in order to understand what is Riven about. The only flaw is the sometimes frustrating interface, which can make you miss some exits or points of interest.
I have tried the original version many years after it's release, but I couldn't enjoy the game due to its interface and difficulty thanks to pixel hunting in low resolution. I have no problem to play pixelated games (Last Door is a favourite for instance), but the original version was exhausting. So thanks to the 20th anniversary edition, I enjoyed this classic title. Definitely one of the best adventure games of all time. Don't miss it!
