With the remaster of Beyond Time and Space you get everything that was unarguably great about the season 1 remaster. Widescreen support, better lighting, new music, and more. And unlike season 1 you don't get any controversial changes to the dialogue. So if that bugged you then good news. Bosco's voice actor is still different but he's very much settled into his role here and does a great job. Skunkape games has really done a great job with the remaster and I can't wait for season 3!
This is probably the best way to play blood bowl without actually touching the board game. However there are some odd choices with the game For singleplayer you can't make a virtual league against AI and for a single VS ai game you can't manually create a team you have to choose a preset. For multiplayer you also can't just invite a friend to a 1v1 game you have to create an entire league. There's still fun to be had but there will be some headaches if you want to play.
Sam and Max is one of my favorite adventure game series and I was very pleased with this remaster. First they've updated visuals. The new lighting, models, and camera effects all look great and fit super well. Secondly they changed a bunch of the audio. All the dialogue and music has been re-encoded so it sounds much higher quality. But what I think is the most impressive is that new tracks have been added where there were previously none. It all sounds great. Thirdly they've added a lot of QOL features. You can now highlight intractable objects and make Sam run instead of walking everywhere. These alone make the game so much better to play. However there are some changes I know some will be displeased with. Bosco's voice actor was replaced with an actual African American man and some lines were removed. However I didn't mind either of these changes. Bosco's new VA starts a little shaky at first but by the end of the season he fits the role very well. For the line removal it was only a handful, and while I understand the frustrations people may have with that it was a very small number and there's plenty of other racy or inappropriate jokes in the game. If the issues bug you there are places where you can still get the originals, I don't know if GoG gives you a copy when you buy the remaster as I already owned them. In the end despite the controversial changes I believe this is the best version of Sam and Max Season 1.
I played this on Gamepass back when it first came out and I enjoyed it a lot. But I also admit where the game falls short. The first half of the game is probably the strongest part of it but after that things gets rushed and less inspired. There's also the fact that the game really doesn't have as much depth as other Obsidian games. Still there's a fun shorter RPG here to be enjoyed. I also haven't played the DLC so that might help make the game feel more complete.
I played this game a few years ago but I still feel like it was a great game. This game has an original conept which is used very well whether freeing ghosts or scaring humans away the ghost related fun does not stop. I'm glad gog picked up this game because not alot of people know about this game hell i only heard about it because I knew someone who had a copy. Anyway great game worth a buy.
