This is a very nice RTS/CCG mash-up kind of game, with some terrific graphics, a solid soundtrack and quite a lot of variety. It is somewhat unfair at times, and the variety isn't as much as you could hope, but I can still easily recommend this to people who like the idea behind it. Solid title.
Yes, it beats HOMM3 in my book. Worth every penny. Great mechanics, beautiful graphics, great music, cool plot, awesome gameplay. All the best the series has to offer in one bundle. You'd be silly not to buy this if you enjoy turn-based strategy games.
One of the best action/rpg games, still very much playable despite the, very aged, graphics. Great music, superb plot, very interesting cyberpunk setting. I ADORE this game and can recommend it to pretty much everyone but people who don't play action/stealth games at all.
This game has two things going for it - great music and quite amusing effects. Otherwise, however, it's just not very good. The game represents what I call the 'RTS transition period' - it tries some things, but doesn't do them well enough to work. So you've got low unit AI, special abilities that you cannot use unless you choose that one particular unit, a 3D camera which is just too clunky most of the time... All that amount to not very satisfying and quite frustrating gameplay, as it makes the difficulty of the game go waaaay up, just because where you are having trouble navigating and ordering units, the computer foe doesn't. The sound design outside of the music is very mediocre. I wouldn't recommend it.
Tyrian 2000 is easily my favourite scrolling shooter of all time. I played the original game ages ago, and then played the 2000 version when I remembered how the game was called. Many thanks to GOG.com for giving this game away for free. This is a terrific game anyone should enjoy.
