Shogun Showdown

Quick, fun, addictive

Game is very replayable. The mechanics are simple once you get the hang of it but not boring as the enemy types, weapons, and upgrade combinations make for interesting learning experiences as to the best strategies. There's enough RNG to keep it fresh but not so much it feels frustrating or stacked against you. Time will melt away, beware!

Coromon

A nice Pokemon clone

It's got the spirit of the GBA Pokemon Red/Blue remakes. It has some nice tweaks that are better than Pokemon (like running by default if desired), but it also inherits some of the weaknesses (grinding, all weak normal attacks at low levels). Also, it may be the years of playing but the elements don't always make sense, many are "normal" types that'd you'd assume have elemental weaknesses and it feels like you have to play with a chart on hand to remember what is storng against what. Characters are interesting, and they won me over with an attack called "Pocket Sand". Hopefully their next installment improves on the formula.
