Got it for free on Epic but it's too difficult to be fun. Level 1 tracks are fine, Level 2 tracks are ok on normal (the easy difficulty setting), Level 3 tracks are already a pain, you can still finish most of them but you cannot even get 1 error because the AI is too strong even on easy and Pure tracks with pipe are a no go. I only tried some level 4 tracks... not even a chance to win even full upgraded. I'm not really sure how some will beat this game... there are only 4 upgrade on the ship and 2 power ups that you cannot even use on Pure tracks... but even with all of them I'm not sure how can anybody win. I played a lot of hours, I was able to learn a lot of tracks with only my memory... even finish 3 round of the pipe track without falling (almost impossible but necessary since if you fall one time it will take too long to respawn) in less than 1 minute... but this game, to get the 3 place, ask you to do it in 50 seconds... The pipe thing (where you spin without even moving) it's another stupid difficult thing that make no sense. There is no way to exit on the floor without decellerate, but if you do that you will fail to reach the 3 place. I'm just glad I didn't pay for this.
Most people interested in this game already got it with the previous collection or the original standalone releases. True the original releases was the DOS inferior version, true you will got a lot more version here and the jungle book too compared to the previous collection... But it's still 12€ even with the discount if you paid for the original releases... I got both and I payed 8.49€ for Disney Aladdin + 16.69€ for Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King + 1.99€ for Jungle book, 27.17€ already for 3 way too old games worth 3€ each at most even in multiple better shape version. I'm not usually the guy to complain about the price (you can just avoid to buy something) but this time I really suggest you to boycott this release. Original customers should have got a free update.
I already got this game on steam many years ago (I got it for a very small price to support IO as an indipendent developer, I was wrong of course, they used denuvo in hitman 2 after that). I was about to buy it here to get the real drm-free version, too bad it's the same shit as steam. You can play offline but you don't unlock anything and the save online version is not compatible with the offline save. I really don't understand how can Gog approve this kind of drm here in a single player game, how is that even possible? I know... gog is not the same anymore, they don't really care anymore about drm-free, but this is really getting ridiculus, first it was multiplayer part with drm, now it is also single player. Not even a reason to buy this game here.
Before we start I need to say that I loved trine 3 3d and all, the only bad thing was the incomplete and really bad story. Sure the puzzles were easier than 2 but I still think the first 3d incarnation was better than most people said. That's why I waited to buy trine 4, I didn't want trine 2 again, I like the trine series because it evolve with every interaction. Trine 3 was not better then 2 but it was different and I liked for that. When I got my new pc I got 3 months of stadia pro for free and in the last month they added trine 4 so it was a good time to try this game. It is actually really good and it's nothing like trine 2 or 1 or 3, sure they are back to 2.5D but the puzzle of this game are better than any other trine, the combat is more interesting, the bosses are not just combat but also puzzles and the story is actually a lot better than any trine. It's so good that I will play it again and that's why I will buy it as soon as stadia expires (on gog drm free of course, I only used streaming gaming because it was free I don't really like to use money on something like that).
Forget the original demo, this is the way to present one of the best game ever made This is what I want the full game to be. The feel is just like the original with a labirintic level design full of secrets, I can just feel the fear of being chased by shodan. I will buy this game on realese for sure (I never preorder, so this deserve the next best thing). Just try it, it feels great, it plays great, with amazing performance.
This remastered is really well made, only a few bugs but not anything game breaking (just a few really small thing you will probably not even notice... like there is an enemy with an invisible shield that still works like it had a shield, you can only get the 10° laurien in Normandy if you don't destroy the box on the left of it (you don't need laurien to progress the game and you will start with asterix that cannot destroy that box in that area anyway), 2 crash in all the game). I already said all the bad stuff, on the other end you will get a classic mode that you can trigger at any moment (really awesome) and that you will need to use for challenges (loved this), a great way to play this game on modern system (the original will not work) and to play all this saga (you can get XXL2 and XXL3 here on gog too, and I got a discount for this game because I own the other two (but is just 30 € even at full price)). At this moment I only see one other review (1 star) that talk about a wrong price (40€ instead of 30€ that is the full price of this game) and bugs... Not sure if this game runs bad on other system but I don't think this is so messy that you will notice a thing. I think you should play this game with this remastered, even if it's not a perfect release I saw much worst in games with much bigger budget and I think you will love it.
