Project Zomboid

Permanent resident of early access

This game has been in development prior to appearing on steam, then it was in steam early access for around 4 years, now it comes to gog early access... Considering how little has been done over all those years and how shallow and unfinished game still feels, I have to give a thumbs down for this game. Sadly, but I am afraid we looking here at another permanent resident of early access which only waits until its developer get tired of it, calls it 1.0 and abandons it (like it happened to Spacebase DF9 for example).

Shame on GoG for sneaking in DRM

I was really disappointed to find out that GoG version of this game still requires Galaxy client for online play, which basically is the same DRM layer as Steam in this case. But even more disappointing is the fact that it isn't clearly stated anywhere on a store page that galaxy is required, so it feels like being cheated by GoG this time. So much for a "DRM-free revolution"... The game itself is good and interesting, with interesting and somewhat unique set of rules for each character, nice art design, though music could have been better considering how good soundtracks in witcher 2 and 3 are. I'm giving this game 4 out of 5 for the quality of it, but GoG really needs to be slapped hard for not putting a clearly visible indication that game requires Galaxy client and account for online play (which is technically a DRM) which is completely contradictory for what this store supposedly stands for. Going to ask for a refund on a sole reason of such rotten policy of sneaking in DRM without clear warning.
