Might and Magic® 8: Day of the Destroyer™

What a confusing mess

They set you in a world and you better pay attention to your quest, cause if you don't, you are going to wander, and get killed a lot!

A silly game

The plot of this game is hilarious. so many holes in it that I don't even know where to begin. Within the first few minutes of watching the opening movie i was laughing at all the inconsistencies of the plot. the acting was over the top as was the premise. then i got into the game and couldn't play ti anymore because of the way the character looked like he was ice skating rather than running...or was he really running around like that cause he needed to use the bathroom really bad? i shall never know. I am probably one of the very few on here to say this game is not worth 6 dollars and should probably be forgotten, as there are many other, better action titles on this site. musical score was good though.

This was not fun

This game was very boring. and didn't have a lot of content. from what i remember of the game, which was very little because there really wasn't anything that memorable about it. you run around as a dude that can change his shape based on points he acquires or something. different weapons and armor based on how you progress. there was only three different dudes to chose from and only three levels of add ons if i remember correctly. no storyline that can remember, and very unremarkable gameplay.

Nothing else like it

A post nuclear role playing game reminiscent of the mad max movies made more than 2 decades ago. but then again these games really almost take on a genre all their own. Other role playing games of the time were either JRPGS like Final fantasy or just another Medieval world setting where you slay the ogres and crawl through the dungeon. while this game dared to be dramatically different, and became popular for not only this reason, but many others. This game has so much love put into it, that you can tell the creators cared to show you a game worth playing. and I may just sound like a nostalgic fanboy but i really do think this game and its sequel are still way better than the third one simply because the third one lacked the hilarious pop culture references and all the great weapon descriptions among many other things. For instance in fallout 3 all you would see is a rusty car. nothing amazing, but in these games even if the mechanic of the year appeared right next to you, neither of you could fix this rusted heap. and if you look at a 44 magnum revolver in fallout 3 that's what you see, but in the black isle games you got a very amusing, and fitting dirty harry reference. it is stuff like that that makes this game and it's sequel really shine. tons of character development, and dialog. and to this day I still manage to find something i didn't notice before when i play these games. so do yourself a favor: cough up the six buck this game costs and play it!
