What is Aquanox? Aquanox is a sci-fi-underwater-shooter. The story is pretty weak, the voice-acting is horrible (german version), but gameplay-wise I had a lot of fun playing this game. Despite it´s age, you can choose high resolutions and the graphics are not too ugly and colourful. You can buy different ships, weapons and upgrades, which is a lot of fun. The missions vary quite a bit and you need to talk to different people on every underwater-station for the story-progress. This part can be annoying due to the terrible voice-acting and the slow story progression, but somehow it´s a charming trash story. The AI on the lowest difficulty level can be pretty challenging. The dark atmosphere and the upgrade mechanic of of the game kept me playing, even if it just plays underwater, the devs put effort in designing interesting landscapes, ships and enemies. So if you prefer games like X-Wing/Tie Fighter or Wing Commander you should give Aquanox a try! Technical details The game is pretty old, but it runs fine on windows 10. Higher resolutions can be chosen in the graphic-settings. You will need to adjust the sensitivity of your mouse, otherwise your movement will be too fast during your play. It is possible to do this in the game in the setup menu or outside the game in the "ini-file". It also might help to lower the resolution of your monitor a bit to get a better experience while moving. There is a bug in mission 29 where enemies keep on respawning until the mission fails, so just restart the mission and play again.
1. What is Aquanox 2? Aquanox 2 is the sequel to the sci-fi-underwater shooter Aquanox 1. 2. Do I have to play the first game before I start with Aquanox 2? No, because Aquanox 2 has its own storyline and you will play as a new main character. You will meet some characters from the first game, but you won´t miss much if you didn ´t play the first game. 3. Is it worth buying? If you liked the first game or games like X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter or Wing Commander, you should give this one a try. 4. I played Aquanox 1, what is the difference between the first and the second game? As I mentioned you will play a new main character. The new storyline is pretty good, more serious and not as cheesy as the first game. The graphics are not as colourful as the first game, but with better textures and its a little darker now with brown colours. The voice acting also improved a bit. 5. Can I still choose different ships and upgrade my weapons? Yes there are not as many ships anymore in the game, but still enough to have a decent variety. The weapons from the first game return and are more easy to shoot (higher bullet velocity and shorter travel speed). You can still upgrade your ships and weapons. You can now sell your equipment or store it outside your ship. 6. What are the missions like? You will be able to speak to your crew members often before or after the missions. You can prepare yourself and read the mission text before you start. The missions also vary between exploration, destruction, escape or protection. Often you will have some wingmen to help you out.

If you like classic FPS with stupid one-liners like Blood or Duke Nukem 3D. 3. What are the good things about SW? -Great Humor -Good weapon variety with alternative fire modes (melee and fire weapons) -A lot of different levels -Many secrets to discover -Nice ambient music -Difficulty Settings (challenging!) -Runs fine on Windows 10 4. What are the bad things about SW? -Some mouse configuration problems -You can get lost in some of the levels, because the keys are very well hidden
1. What is Full Spectrum Warrior? It´s a real-time strategy game from 2004 created by Pandemic Studios/THQ. You will control 2 fireteams from the US military in the middle east. The missions vary a bit from destroy, protect, rescue hostages and capture objectives. The game is split into 10 chapters and can be played in singleplayer and multiplayer coop as well (but gamespy is dead!). You´re gonna move the two squads separately, that means that you just giving orders with your mouse where to move, which areas to cover and which targets to attack. Your men have different weapons and grenade types which you will need to use to go through the campaign. 2. Technical things The game runs fine on Windows 10 64 bit and needs about 2.1 GB of your harddisk space. 3. What does the game right? -good tutorial to learn the basic tactics and controls -good controls overall, but sometimes the coversystem doesn´t work correctly -storyline is okay and pretty forgettable, but it´s all about the tactical and thrilling gameplay in the end -long campaign with 10 chapters, which took me about 16 h -difficult but rewarding experience (trial and error) -fair save game system 4. What does the game wrong? -you will need to overlook the dated graphics from 2004 -the game is hard (you will die a lot) and you need to be very patient due to the slow gameplay mechanics -gameplay is a bit repetetive because of the simple but effective controls and orders
1. What is Silence? Silence is the second part of the Whispered World franchise. It´s an adventure game developed by Daedalic Entertainment from Germany. You will play both characters Renie and Noah, who are brothers and sisters. 2. Do I have to play the fist game before I continue with part 2? No, silence tells it´s own story. You will have no problems to dip into the world and follow the storyline. If you have played part one you will recognize some nice hints. If you decide to start with part one you should know that it is a very hard and sometimes frustrating game, whereas part 2 is significantly easier and forgiving! Both games are very good indeed in their own way! 3. Technical details and issues It runs fine on a windows 10 64 bit machine and it needs about 21 gb space of your hard drive. After the latest patch I needed to start the game as admin to run properly (right click on exe-file). 4. What does the game right? -great and emotional storyline with lively characters -breathtaking backgrounds and visuals, pretty light effects and animations -very nice choice of classic puzzle elements and balance/movement-puzzles -good soundtrack -nice voice acting (German version) -very good controls both with controller and mouse -2 playable characters -2 endings -bonus material (pictures) 5. What does the game wrong? -playtime only 7-8 hours -long loading times when changing the screens/characters and when loading a save game from the main menue -starting problems after the latest patch (start as admin) -easy puzzle elements, maybe too easy for people who want to be challenged -abrupt ending (cliffhanger) -maybe a little too dark for a younger audience compared to the general appearance of the game 6. Final thoughts Do you miss the times when games had a heart? These times when stories and characters moved you in an emotional way? These times when games had so much love of detail and where so perfectly put together? This is one of that kind. This game will make you smile when little Renie grabs a some leaves and throws them into the air full of joy. Renie really steals the show when it comes to emotion, especially if you have children by yourself. Each scenery is so beautiful and could be easily your next wallpaper. Maybe the puzzles are too easy and the game is a little too short. But if you can overlook this, you will have a very emotional and stunning experience in silence.
