Trantor: The Last Stormtrooper

definitely belongs to GOG

I played the C64 version a lot back then and never knew about the DOS version until it was released here. It plays really well. Good for some casual playing when you don't have a lot of time for some deeper gameplay because this is basically a run and gun with battling a time-limit and the better you are the further you get. I would just love to see the other homecomputer ports to be included in this GOG release as well. Would be nice to have it all here in one pack.

Super 3-D Noah's Ark

cute and challenging

Gotta say this game is absolutely adorable (especially the sound design made me smile a lot while playing) and this brand new PC port was done amazingly well. It plays fantastically and i was surprised how challenging the difficulty becomes with each new level. So yeah it's definitely a entertaining challenge. I don't think you have to be religious to love this game. It's pretty open for everyone. But if you enjoy the Gospel and wanna play something enjoyable, family friendly and without violence, this game might be just the right thing for you. Definitely worthy of a recommendation. Especially this remastered PC port. Excellent work!

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition

Took them long enough

Basically the BEST version of Skyrim. - DRM-free - all the DLCs and community contents included - it supports Switchable GPUs like Nvidia Optimus. Something the day1 release of Skyrim did not support. So if you have a laptop or a low power gaming PC with switchable GPUs or an APU, this version here runs with it. (tested on a Asus ROG GR6 with Intel HD 5500 and Nvidia GTX960M) However the Special Edition also installs ALL the language packs at once. No way to chose during install. So if you do not need the other ones, delete them manually after the game was installed. Not only will the game run perfectly fine, you also save a ton of Storage space. However keep in mind that not all mods will work, unless they are deliberately made for the Special Edition or are at least made compatible.

Savage

FINALLY on GOG

First of all i did not expect THIS classic to actually ever get a GOG release and yet here it is and it was an insta-buy for me. I never played the DOS version before but only the C64 and Amiga version and loved both versions a lot. Sadly this Version here only contains the DOS version and i#d love to see the C64 and Amiga version (or at least the C64 version) to be included as well. That would be awesome. But so far i gotta say the DOS version plays amazingly well and feels like a blend between the C64 and the Amiga version. Furthermore i am VERY happy that there is a Linux Package available from day 1. Which is also why i instantly bought it. So thank you so much for that!!! :) The DOS version allows you to chose the levels directly from a menu. Which is very convenient if you just wanna jump in and play your favorite levels. I can definitely recommend this release!

Superliminal

I work of art and modern classic

I'm not saying this often but this game really is a freaking masterpiece, from the beginning to the end. There are not many games that actually manage to make a dream world feel actually believable and immersive. The game design is clever and if you love to let yourself fall into a relaxing virtual world and solve some really interesting and clever designed riddles and obstacles with very little frustration, this game is definitely for you. I love how puzzles and riddles are solved in this game and REALLY using the whole "perspective" thing in a logical and proper manner. The Soundtrack (which i bought too) is also the icing on the cake and really sets the perfect mood for this game. The great thing is you can play the game either as a speed-run challenge. achievement hunt or just to relax and taking your sweet time. So yeah, i think it is fair to say that Superliminal really is a work of art and really is a digital oilpainting in my opinion. Definitely worthy of 5 Stars. I had lots of fun during my first playthrough and i am definitely going to re-play it again. Especially since the game also lets you build your OWN dreams and share them with others. A feature that was patched into the game after its release and the game really expands on it now. The game deserves the high praises. No doubt about that. Thank you Pillow Castle! Excellent work!

Superliminal Double-Album Soundtrack

Lacks a FLAC download

I LOVE the soundtrack just as much as i love the actual game. But why is the download only MP3 files? We need a lossless FLAC version too. Come on! It's not 2006 anymore.

DOOM 64

The Missing Link between Doom and Doom 3

I played Doom 64 on the Nintendo 64 back in 1998 or so and was puzzled at why this Doom was so vastly different than the Doom i originally saw for the first time on the 386er PC of a friend of my father back then. I quickly realized that this was an entirely new standalone Game from a different Developer who tried something different. And indeed this game really already takes most of the things we later saw in Doom 3 a few years later. The whole creepy light aspect and making it look and feel a lot more eerie and downright scary. The soundtrack by Aubrey Hodges, who also did the Soundtrack for the Sega Saturn and Sony Playstation version, really adds to the whole creepy vibe. Gameplay wise there's no real difference between classic Doom and Doom 64. You still do the same keycard hunt and cannot look up or down or jump. Enemies are Spirites but absolutely wonderfully done and really looking creepy. The big shotgun, that we know from Doom II, is included again as well as the BFG. There's also one new gun that was only in Doom64 This PC port by Nightdive, is an absolute faithful conversion of the Nintendo 64 classic. You can even chose the renderer API. Either Vulkan, OpenGL 3.2 or DirectX11. And the best thing is, NO DRM so i'm absolutely excited this game finally came to GOG. Bye Bye Bethesda.net forced login. Nobody is missing you. lol This game really is the missing link between classic Doom and Doom³ and the creative level design is still something i appreciate the most after all those years. It definitely aged really well and now it is way better playable with mouse and keyboard on the PC than it was on the N64.
