...but still an easy recommendation. Great world design, great movement mechanics, story that's a delight to uncover. I LOVE this game. The only issues are with optimisation (had a lot of slowdown in places) but that's not unexpected in such a massively ambitious and complex game. Can't wait for the final release!

I love this one. I love that you can play it in any order and develop relationships with characters at different times that can wildly influence different events. I love the variety, the stealth, the writing and voice acting. Your class archetypes can be broken down into The Three Bs. Bond - Seduction, Gadgets and Pistols Bauer - Aggression, Shotguns and SMGs Bourne - Professionalism, Stealth and CQC The upgrades when you level up are always useful and the relationships with other characters can be crucial... in some situations, people loving you too much can be as detrimental as people despising you. Also, people disliking you can be as helpful as people liking you. It's so well thought out. One mission is a politically manoeuvred conversation in an Italian gelateria with a (potential) enemy. One mission is a frantic boss fight against a coked-up Russian '80s disco gangster to the blaring audio of Autograph's classic "Turn Up The Radio." It's equal parts sensible and bonkers, deadly serious and darkly irreverent, action packed and slow paced. I bought and played it at full price on original release and loved every moment of it. If you like RPGs/ImSims or the spy thriller genre, then this is the best (and only?) choice.

Had this game for a few years now, thought it was about time I left a review. A side scrolling light RPG with lots of that oh-so-good Cyberpunk charm. The controls become intuitive very quickly and the combat is pretty simple but satisfying. I love exploring the areas, I enjoyed the dialogue and the refreshingly straightforward story is executed very well. There is absolutely NO reason not to try this one. At it's full price, it's still a good investment and definitely worth your time checking out if you're a fan of side scrollers or cyberpunk in general.

Very fond memories of this game, bugs be damned. It was a victim of its own ambition; open world, quests and side quests to complete, competing factions to placate or antagonise, inventory management, soft RPG elements that actually compliment the game very well... but it was buggy. Cyberpunk levels of buggy. Almost Skyrim levels of buggy. But the game has charm and character coming out of the wazoo. The combat felt very good, the driving was pleasingly arcade-y and some of the random encounters were lots of fun! I was driving through the jungle and a tree fell in front of the jeep... then another fell behind... then banditos popped out of the undergrowth. I enjoyed it very much. Definitely worth a purchase.
Fantastic game, achieves everything it attempts. It's like of a half way point between a squad based tactics game and a strategy game. Set up your carrier near an island, sneak ashore to harvest resources and use those resources to build dozens of different combat aircraft and ground units. Equip these units with individual AI and set out multi-pronged attacks against enemy installations. Use salvage from battles to improve your own equipment and gather more resources. I love this game. Meticulously planning every stage of a conflict to maximise damage and minimise resource spending never gets old. Manually jumping into battle alongside your AI squad is always satisfying. And at this price, I mean, come on.

Bought this game in a box back in 2011. The Steam Key didn't work. Couldn't get it activated and couldn't get a refund. Bought the Legendary edition back in 2016 and that didn't work either. Again, Valve's stellar customer support didn't care. This is now the third time I've bought this game and, after almost 11 years, I'm about to play it for the first time.
