Already loved the first game and this seems to improve on the first one i every way.
This was the first CRPG I ever played. Years later coming back to it I'm still having a great time!
First of all: I love the basegame. For me personally its the HoMM 4 I always wanted. While I was a little disappointed the factions DLCs didnt include new campaigns, Roots really blew me away. This faction offers some great new mechanics and probably the most unique units (Hearts/Pulses and Seeds/Roots of the mother) I used in a similar game yet. The Wielders that come with this new faction as well offer some great variety. This faction allows (in my oppinion) for the most diverse playstyles. You just can to some many different things and have a differing experience each time. Keep it up Lavapotion!
I really enjoy the new Vanir faction. It has a pretty distinct and unique feel to it. I am a little sad it lacks a campaign (thus no 5 stars), but instead we get some conquest and challenge maps which do a good job introducing the faction.
I really enjoy this game. If you like the old HoMM games you should certainly get this one. It offers some great new ideas and twists to the genre, that really freshen up the experience.Additionally I love the presentation of the game (graphics, music and the songs) They announced a lot of post release content already and with more that this game can really challenge the greats of this genre.
