Players beware! , you'll get no speech sound if you install game from offline backup installer (or, I assume, default option on GOG Galaxy)! If you want polish soundtrack - you need (in there - in offline backup installer download window) to choose polish language (Language: polski). The people behind this mod worked a lot on it - I know that and I'm grateful but they pretty much failed immediately with its launch. You know that majority of your player base will be people that do not know Polish but they, of course, want some audio feedback when they play the game. So you don't provide "English subs - polish dub" version out of the box? Then you are either ignorant or do not really care about 80% of the people that want to play your mod. I almost, almost, thank God that I didn't rush, almost donated you nice amount of money in advance because you made total conversion mod for my fav. game of all time. (yes I was hyped, I admit) Now you'll just get a "thank you" from me :) So: thank you for your hard work. I'll try to play your mod but something is telling me that I will not see English text when I install polish version of your game :) So, for all people that have / will have the same problem: guys, you'll want to install polish version first, then check the forums on gog/internet for list of audio files you need to copy from this (polish) installation and then install eng. ver. and paste polish files into the english version of the game. Or do you have better solution, mod team?
And one of the best RPGs ever made. It's old, it's ugly, I know. But there are mods for that... Just go to the youtube and type: "Easy Guide for Modding MORROWIND with Amazing Graphics in 30 Minutes - Super Simple Modlist for 2021" And that's it, the basic mods are there. 1. Install the game 2. Mod it 3. ??? 4. Criticize the Oblivion and Skyrim even more! It's the best.

.. the best. But! Let me borrow one sentence from one review below: "The game is based around entirely random encounters; adaptation is a virtue." You can be good player but you cannot entirely escape randomness in this game. I have to admit that I'm not really good at this game. But I like to play it. It's good. I often accuse randomness but it's not true. It's quite possible to finish this game. You just have to be patient and careful.
the best RPG ever. No, for me Gothic 2 still is the best. But this is def. 2nd place. So good, so nice, just play it. You won't regret it.
Maybe it's the worst.. But it's still good RPG game. Lot of things changed after Witcher 1 - I don't like combat in this one to be honest. But it's fine. Oh yes, Quick Time Events are bad thing. But... we can remove one star and still say: play this game, it's ok
One of the best RPG in my top 20 RPG list... I can always suggest to anyone: play this Witcher then second and then the 3rd... there is not really a reason to skip any Witcher. And of course I have to give award to the best comment: "The best Neverwinter Nights module" - indeed it is the best @alvira.f45

If we take 2 things like this: 1. community patch is mandatory for this game - it's unfinished without it 2. you do not look at this RPG as "Gothic" game Then this game is... average. 3/5 Combat controls are bad - and that no patch can change, believe me. This is the first Gothic game that I played as a mage from the beginning. Meleee combat is THAT bad, believe me. When I have to play as a mage - it's bad. Everything else is - meh, average. But if we compare it with Gothic 2. It's piece of.. well I don't want to swear. It's one of the worst dissapointments in my life. Piranha Bytes did very bad job. Very very bad job. After wonderful Gothic 2, this is just... yuck Take a big breath and play it as "Generic RPG" game - maybe you'll like it like that. Use magic from the (almost) beginning - you won't regret it. You will regret it when you unlock best magic late in the game and you won't have anything to kill with it. Yes, it's a bad game....
