It's not right to review a game that you haven't completed. On the other hand it's not right to release a game that is not finished. I tried 3 times to get into this and I just can't. The Amount of HDD space to install; compared to the amount of BUGS that constantly make you re-load... Clearly there was a lot of effort, but the team bit off MUCH larger than they could chew. #1 thing above all else is that the compass @ the bottom centre of screen most of us use for quests, doesn't track quests 33% of the time. You just end up running around looking for that door that may or may not open. ( just walk through like clipping). Zero optimization. After 4 hours the game transitions / level loading is slower than FO4 GOTYE with 4k Upgrade @ end game. ( last attempt with last patch Dec 2024) I tried, tried very much as It seems interesting. It is free so I didn't give it a 1. sorry. Rough review. It needs much more work, please focus on load times and quest tracking over graphics and extra stuff. Fun comes first! :)
Part one on both Good Old Games and Steam, can finish from beginning to end with out issues after first 5 " battles " Part 2 However... I cannot complete this game. You will get STUCK @ the 75% + mark minimum. The game crashes over and over and over again. You can reload saves, make different choices... BLA!!!.. You cannot finish this game as is... It NEEDS MORE SUPPORT!!!. I have the CD's right beside me for earlier systems and have Beaton them... I CANNOT with this version... The family quest where the 2 family's argue and fight amongt' em selves... @ the end, the game crashes every single time...
This game has been done before, over and over and over again. We have all seen the versions around throughout the years. THIS time there is a bit of a mix... With other stuff we have seen time and time again... Good Mixture. Metroid map style, Character level up style on " gold ". Map moves around upon death. " THEIR IS ALWAYS A MINI_MAP AND FULL MAP ON BUTTON PRESS " 4 Local Player Support... Stay together, Talk... You have this... Great System Requirements!
There is a ' bit ' of grinding; just a heads up but your first play through with all your noob mistakes and learning, 90% of gamers should beat this under 14 hours. Once you know things work and understand the choices / upgrades that should get chosen in what ever order you want, it becomes MUCH different. I'm on my 3rd play through for this review. I don't agree with " rogelike " as many people are putting down... I think that word gets used WAY to much on games. This is a TOWER DEFENCE game where the towers run around based on their programming script. On killing enemy spawn ( buildings ) there is a bit of randomness, with in game rewards, but THAT's IT. The " Towers " are all custom built by you and there is a bit of randomness on what parts you get, but the player decides on what race produces more parts through upgrades ( or building strength, or regeneration, or self main base repair rate or.... ) I really liked this game. 7% of the time you will be mad @ how the computer chooses targets but if you are any kind of gamer you can overcome those issues with countering upgrades and your own unit placement. SLIGHT learning curb and slightly addictive on your first go. I liked it! The price you pay with such low system requirements, WOW! GOOD STUFF!!!
