I bought this game because it was cheap and looked funny and no prior knowledge of this game. At first I was really confused, when I learned that you can't jump in this plattformer, ironically a genre that is often called Jump 'n' Runs in my country (Germany), but it didn't take long for me to really get into the controls. Basically you need to get near red or blue tiles to either pull yourself towards or push off them. It's really fun so far. I'm currently in the third world, and it's reasonably challenging. There were levels, were I struggled for a while, but I wouldn't say it's too hard. I'd say this game is fun both for veterans and new players of the genre. I was even thinking about giving it five stars, because it's so cheap, but I decided to rate the game without taking it's price into account. It's a strong recomendation from me.
I don't fathom how it is possible, that I have not heard about this game prior to buying it. I saw it on sale for a few bucks and just bought it impulsively. This game is an absolute steal for the price. I've played a few plattformers and this one is better than most that I've played, even some that were extremely popular. I play on normal and it's really difficult. But there are easier modes, were you have three lives instead of just one. The movement feels great and responsive and the soundtrack is an absolute banger. It doesn't really do anything extremely innovative, but it's doing everything very well. If you have the slightest interest in the genre, treat yourself and buy this game.
This is a very basic platforming game. It doesn't really do anything better than other games, but the mechanics are alright. There are few things that I could really call good, it's pretty much middle of the road. But since you can get it really cheap, I guess it doesn't hurt to try it.
I can really see how I would've liked this game if I had played it when it came out. The problem is that these days we are used to certain control styles and quality of life features. There is so much clunkyness in the controls. I just can't get into this game.
On higher difficulties it's propably a real challenge for experienced players. Since I don't play many FPS I played on lower difficulties. The movement of this game is incredibly fun and it's so satisfying to see the environments completely destroyed at the end of a level. Since I'm not a huge FPS fan, I don't have many points of reference for games of that style, but I enjoyed it a lot.
I already owned that game on another platform, but completely forgot about it. I bought it on GOG and as soon as I started playing I fell in love with this game again. It's so charming and relaxing. A perfect little game to play when you are tired and just want something nice to do. I really like the art style and while this game is really simple, there is a lot of room to pertect your build. I'm not really into hardcore optimizing, so I just try to do it as best as I can, while not stressing over it too much. But I wouldn't be surprised if they were some try-hards who really perfected their gameplay. While I really like this game, I doubt most people will get a lot of playtime out of it. Just play it for a few hours, then uninstall it and do it again a few weeks or even months later.
This is the first time I've payed for an infectonator game and it's the worst one I've played. For me, most of the added features just make the game worse. I liked it much more, when I just a series of levels with bonus objectives I needed to progress through. Now I've got to pick were I want to start, whichDNA sequences to unlock, strategise were to spread to... Just give me a series of progressively harder cities to infect and a very basic upgrade system.
I have no nostalgia for this game, I bought it because it was cheap and I was kind of curious. This game is rather simple but a lot of fun. I'd say the best about this game is the soundtrack. It's really relaxing to turn up the volume and race to electronic music. It's simple fun!
