It's simply a silly, enjoyable match-3 puzzle game with solid amateur voice acting, and amusing (if greatly stereotyped) characters. This is meant for a laugh, and it succeeds admirably at it's modest goals. For $10 it absolutely delivers what it sets out to do Finally... We have entered the golden age of bare anime breasts being acceptable content on gog. Truly we live in a great time, my friends. -5/5-
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a thoughtful, diverse, and frequently awe-inspiring adventure. Its stories are deep and satisfying, unafraid to touch on themes of personal character, presenting players with choices and consequences that aren’t about turning into a hero or a villain. In the end, it’s quite simply one of the best RPGs ever made. Its shockingly cohesive world is as beautiful as it is demanding, and it's packed full of mature content that throws you from one emotional response to the next. Its storytelling is superb, its combat is grippingly refined, and its often unforgiving nature only lends itself to a brilliantly rewarding experience.
This is a fantastic game. I was expecting a cheap God of War Clone, but it's far better than that. For one thing the Horseman War is far more interesting a character than Kratos, whose one-note vengeance act is wearing pretty thin. Great atmosphere, fun combat, very creative puzzles, and some of the best creature design ever. It's a long game with tons of bosses, and they're all awesome looking. New elements are constantly introduced to keep it fresh--grappling hook, horseback combat, and even some Portal dynamics near the end. The biggest criticism is that Darksiders doesn't do anything new, but combining all these great elements from other games so successfully IS something new.
50 hours of fighting plus 30 hours of dialog equals Agarest: Generations of War Zero. If you are a fan of JRPGs and round-based strategy-RPGs, you will surely enjoy this game, the character designs are amazing, on a technical level Agarest Zero doesn't fair to badly, the graphics, although simple, are actually rather nice with high res textures and art aswell as adorable sprites, the music is great and very fitting and up beat and the loading times rather short. One last note there is no English dub, subs yes but no voice over, but you do get an excellent cast of Japanese voice actresses/actors to listen to. Long story short, this is a fantastic game despite obvious shortcomings and its well worth buying just to experience a genius battle system and to really challenge yourself. A Zero only has 2 generations, which for those of you new to Agarest (like I was) is a system where you choose one of 3 girls to have a child with (it doesn't show you how ofcourse) and that child becomes you're new main character for the second part of the game, the girl you pick affects various things from you're new characters appearance to his stats (the more the girl likes you the better they'll be) You can excecute combos by placing party members in certain possitions in relation to each other, and you can further add to the skill element by selecting a map that suits you. For example you can choose a map with areas that increase you're attack power, especially usefull against enemies reliant on magic, you also have an SP guage which adds even MORE depth to the battle system allowing you to use extra powerfull attacks if that party member has taken a lot of hits (not damage but sperate hits) or has defeated some foes. For GOG release and for enjoy able game I rate this 8/10 ^^
As we all know the annual GOG fall sale recently rolled by and cleaned out our virtual wallets with prices that no one can refuse. Half of the games bought never actually get played so I decided to give one of my purchases try rather than let it gather virtual dust in the library. That game is Democracy 3; a game where you play the Prime Minister, President or leader of a select few countries. Your goal is to stay in power by pleasing groups of voters, fixing nationwide issues and implementing new laws/policies. I don't know if the gameplay can be classed as actual 'gameplay' so to speak as the entirety of the experience has you perusing menus and eyeing up statistics as you fiddle with sliders to adjust taxes. That being said there is some allure to this game a it's interesting to try and create a country that follows your own personal ideals. One neat aspect of this diplomatic simulator is the assassination possibility. If you annoy a group too much then they will plot and attempt to assassinate you, the best part of this is that it isn't entirely random. For example if you have loose gun laws then an assassination is more likely due to the ease of access to firearms. The layout of the main and stats screens is pristine but overwhelming at first as there is so much to take in when first faced with it. There are lines going to and fro between the many policies and laws as well as an array of bars showing the demographic of voters you've won over or pissed off. Overall Democracy 3 isn't a game you'll spend hours on end in. It's not amazing in terms of gameplay and it certainly won't blow you away. But there's something captivating about trying to create your own set of laws in a country; whether it be legalising drugs and prostitution, banning religion or taxing the wealthy, there is a wide array of laws and policies you can pass to shape the country as you please. Democracy 3 won't inspire hours of fun but it's certainly interesting enough to warrant a playthough. This game I think : 6/10
