Dying Light: Definitive Edition

Amazing!

I own the Enhanced Edition since 2018 even though it doesnt say I own it. I was not prepared for how amazing this game is before I finally tried it in 2018! The graphics are amazing, not even a hiccup now that I have 32g of RAM and its a huge open world with amazing graphical detail. The character models are good, but it's the environmental detail where this game really looks amazing. Even after lowering the settings and disabling some to make up for my lack of RAM when I had only 8g. The sound is clear and immersive from the moans and screams of the undead, to bottles being rolled around as they shamble through the streets, the sound and graphics make a highly immersive experience. The presentation and atmosphere creates a sense of immersion and tension that I havent experienced from a game in years. Just exploring the island and surviving is fun, but there are interesting missions and many Easter Eggs for the player to find. It creates a feeling of an apocolypse on the island, so you only meet a handful of living people even in a city. Some went bad in order to survive, some try to keep to themself, and some have just went completely insane. The game itself is an open world, first person game with RPG elements and parkour similar to the AC series. It seems like an odd mix, but it makes a very fun experience. There is a day/night cycle that creates constant tension, especially earlier to mid game. At night you only have a small flashlight to see, so youre constantly checking your back. The zombies get stronger, faster, and more aggressive at night. In addition there are much more powerful and mobile enemies that come out at night. You can find a safe zone and sleep to make it day again, but XP is significantly increased at night as well as the quality of drops and items you may find. In addition to a standard story, there are many side stories to find. The crafting is well done. The bottom line is this is an excellent game that is well worth even full price.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries

Amazing

Mechwarrior 5 is simply amazing. For anyone unaware it is an action game with management and strategy elements based in the future where we have colonized the galaxy and fight in 100 ton mechs. The story is connected to Battletech lore as you progress through the timeline. As the lore goes, most wars take place through mercenaries. The lore is extensive, but you dont need to know it to enjoy it. In MW5 you can play the campaign or career and can play co op with a friend in both taking them on missions as a lancemate. The story is a pretty average vengeance story for a video game, but the Battletech lore story in the backdrop makes it amazing since it is so detailed. Its a sandbox with unlimited replayability. There are around 10 mission types with procedurally gen maps, but they are adding more and there are many mods that add content The gameplay is very much like the previous entry, MW4M. You have a merc company that you have to manage equipment, personnel, mechs, reputations, repairs, upgrades, all while traveling the galaxy looking for missions. Both the campaign and career offer substantial freedom to go where you want and do what you want. In the campaign you are forced into certain alliances and starting areas, but in career you can decide for yourself, but miss out on the campaign missions. The graphics and sound are excellent. I have not seen any glaring graphical bugs or glitches. It runs smooth on my mid to upper tier laptop from 2016 on high settings. The sound is phenominal, pairing with the graphics to create an immersive experience. My only complaints are the soundtrack, which is a form of rock, and Ryanna. The soundtrack isnt bad, it just doesnt have that epic feeling as the MW2 music had, just search for MW2 tracks and youll know what I mean. Ryanna talks a bit during missions and 99% of it is unecessary. This is a worthy successor to the series and theyre continually adding content. Battetech fan or not, I highly recommend i

HITMAN - Game of The Year Edition

Amazing

This reboot of the Hitman series is simply amazing. First the bad... some extra content is online, daily or weekly challenges, leaderboards, and user created content, but you are in no way obligated to go online. You have the majority of the game completely offline. When the game originally released it was online all the time only, but GOG has brought us the game drm free and completely offline if you choose. It is entirely worth it without the additional online content if you choose, but you have the option to do it. If youre not familiar with it you are, as the title says, a hitman. Youre given missions to assassinate certain targets. The maps are open and you can complete your objectives any way you see fit and kill using any objext you can pick up. It actually rewards you for playing though missions in any different way you can think of. Its possible to run and gun, but it will be the most difficult option. The sound and graphics are what you'd expect from a triple A release in 2015 and it really holds up today. I highly recommend this game, but if you're not sure just search some lets play videos. I cant wait until 2 and 3 get here! (Both 2 and 3 dropped the episodic content)
