This game should be free on the web, because it's way too short. Don't waste your money on this, not eve 0.99$ not even 25 cents... really, really not worth any money. You can play much better games for free on the web and most take a much longer time to finish than this thing. There is no depth, and like El001 said, if you don't pick the right stats, game over. You should be able to finish the game no matter what the stats, it should be the choices you make in the game that influences the story, not your stupid stats. Also, there should be at least a dozen different endings. Always the same one of few ones in such an easily designed game is poor game design skills. Play Princess Maker instead, it's worth the money in comparison to this joke! Stay away from that game, not because it's bad, because it's too short for its price, should be a freeware.
This is one of the worst games of the genre released... some low budget games found in abandonware sites are much better than this. I don't understand why GOG.com wasted its money to get this... it's a big waste of time and money on their part. They could have bought something better... not hard to beat. Stay away from this, it's bad Master of Orion... and not to wonder why they did not come up with a 4th one so bad it was. I pity the game designer, they had such a winning formula in MOO 1 and 2 and completely destroyed it in the 3rd.
This game is unique and has an infinity amount of replayability. If you don't use the save-load technique, you are up against a really great but interesting challenge. This ain't an action game, so people with low IQ please abstain. ;) hehe! Also, the game world is the first role playing game world ever invented, even before Gary Gygax's... although, it got published way after with the RuneQuest game system (a simple and fun one, better than any version of the Dungeons & Dragons game system). The game world was also inspirational. Many tried to copy it's ideas like Game Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (chaos comes from Rune Quest's game universe btw, it's not a Games Workshop Idea). All in all, buy this one, it's worth every penny in opposition to most post year 2000 games which are superficial, shallow and/or have low or no replayability value.
This is an underdog. Too many people are superficial and materialistic to see this one as a good game. They prefer superficial games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and other games with great graphics but poor game design and very linear. This one is different and is more fun to play than any of these big budget games that focus on eyecandy rather than the game itself. Unlike crap like Diablo, this game is tough. You should use your range weapons and magic first until you run out before going hand to hand (unless you fight a spell caster or deadly range attacker) because hand-to-hand is deadly. I recommend this game ten times before any big budget games like Mass Effects, Diablos, Elder Scrolls 4 or more recent, Dragon Age, etc.
This game is tough, but unlike some of the tough games I have commented on, this one is not that good. It copies Heroes of Might and Magic (so what else is new, people can't create their own games, they need to copy other's) in a bad way. Also, once you finish the game, you don't feel like playing it again unlike Heroes of Might and Magic III that you really want to play another and another. Don't buy this, not worth it.
This is a good game but like many of its genre, too focused on combat, not enough on decisions. So, it's not a role playing game, it's an adventure game. But, it's a good game, some people might even want to buy it, and I would say to them that it's worth it... as long as it's under 20$... otherwise don't bother.
This is yet another example of post year 2000 games. A great idea that went like 50% of the way and got published. For example, just after one hour or so of gameplay, you have seen everything that the game has to offer you. It is very shallow and lack depth. The idea is great, but they only went 50% of the way in the game design... So, you get tired of the game quite quickly since there is very little stuff in it to do or to build.
