The game is as silly and dumb as the first of the series. Jedis are supposed to jump, dodge, parry and move around like Speedy Gonzales while mundane heroes take cover, shoots, dodge, roll, and so on. But not in this game. All characters just stand there like in a wrestling match in the Flinstones (I hit you, you hit me until one falls). Also the Dungeons and Dragons system is a dumbest of all for anything that has guns in it or sci-fi elements, because it's the guy with the most bullets that wins due to incredibly high life points and super low damage for guns. It.s true in this game, everything is focused on hack'n'slash, most non-combat powers of jedis only works on ordinary folk they never work on bosses, not even a 1% chance. Okay, maybe on siths and dark jedis, but mundane bosses? This sequel is very bad both due to the story which is lesser in all its form than the first KotOR and the game system is as dumb, stupid and ridiculous as the first. Don't buy this unless you want a good laugh at the game designer.
A game that could have been better. There are some great elements in this game but some very poor too. I like that you create your own character, that's always a plus. I hate it when a game impose me a character... especially one that I think sucks. Graphics, sounds and music are acceptable. And since this is a turn-based hack & slash (not a rpg at all since you have no choice in the story, no freedom either), the graphics could have been a bit better, especially the cutscenes. It's much easier to make good animations and graphics for turn-based closed environment games, no clipping to test like in open worlds games for example. They take elements from Realms of Arkania which intrigued and hooked me. But after spending an hour or two on this game, I've found out that it is difficult, even at the easy level, there are some stupid features like since he enemy is harder, your spell is harder to cast (LOL, that's one of the dumbest logic I have ever seen in a video game!), characters have 98% chance to succeed but miss their rolls like 20% of the time, etc. Really crappy game design sometimes. Game design is so bad that you cannot accelerate movement in battles for a quicker battle, you cannot sim battles, you can't even rotate the freakin' camera... they give a pathetic excuse of "it's because how the levels are created"... well, if you would have created the game like a proper 2010 game, it wouldn't have such a lame design. Some spells are TOTALLY useless, like all the debuffs are useless. My characters got debuffed and it did no even hinder them in combat, whether I played easy or medium difficulty level. I get blasted by a cold spell, the only downside I've noticed is that my characters moves slower for a short while... meh! They could have made a nice game with a multiple path storyline and by removing those flaws, but we all know they did as bad with the sequel. Don't buy this unlike you like redundant, repetitive, goalless hack'n'slash turn-based combat.
This new adventure is better than the original, but it's still far from what is supposed to be a Shadowrun experience. It feels linear and I don't think it has several endings (uninstalled the game before half of the story, was sick of the combat arenas). We are still limited to combat arenas over and over again. Very few puzzles, negotiations, diplomacy, bargaining, arguments, flirt, no stealth to avoid combat, etc. What happened to the term SHADOWrunning? In this game it feels more like gunsblazinrunning. All is about killing stuff, and it's quite redundant after a while... but not as much as the first story. So I don't call this a role-playing game, but a tactical combat game with a story. Calling this a rpg is a mistake, there is little to no role-play in it, most of things are imposed onto you, you have almost no freedom of choice. it is still palyable, but only buy if you like tactical combat over and over again, because there ain't much to it than that, especially in the first story that came with the original game.
The tactical battle aspect of the game is awesome! This is the first game to use horseback riding and fighting in a believable way. It's fun, tough and filled with adrenaline and fear of getting K.O.'ed. With modern computers, I think they should up the individuals on the map to 500, I doubt that it will affect performance much, especially if you exploit multi-core techonology. That combined with good RAM would make it possible. The strategic part is ok. Getting your hand on a city or fort/castle the first few times is tricky, but once you have seen the game flaws of attacks on cities and strongholds, they're a bit easier. Defending them while exploiting the game flaws is even easier! I think they should make real castle/city assault, because right now, you have one hole in a wall and everyone rushes there and that is not realistic and causes lots of bugs and silliness. Cities and castles cannot be starved out by besieging them, you are REQUIRED to attack each place. The economic part sucks. Warband is the crappiest of all M&B when it comes to trading. Only three or four commodities are worth trading. Prices vary little. There is no consumption on the part of the cities or strongholds. So the economic aspect of the game is absent. Something they should work on. I think Warband is a good tactical combat game, but that's it. I prefer the original game (the one that was worked on before Paradox put its hand on it) and Fire and Sword. Only buy if you want the collection, otherwise skip to Fire and Sword or Mount and Blade 2.
A bit shallow of a game, but quite fun. Wish there was more stuff in the game. This is the kind of game that should be free to play. You shouldn't need to buy such a game, it's way too small. It will take you only an hour or two at maximum to see EVERYTHING the game has to offer, which is a pity because the designers had a good idea. Idea that came a bit short. I don't recommend buying this one for more than 2$, if you can try it, do it, if you like it, maybe buy it, but each new game will be quite similar to the others you have played.
I could repeat what I've said about the special edition but instead I'll just say two things... First, this version of the game is even less interesting than the special edition, and I think the special edition should be free to play on Kongregate (some games on that site are much better than Unrest, and much longer, and they are free to play) Second, what the hell is that thing doing on GOG? It's neither good nor old, why bring unknown games on GOG? We have over 20 years of Good old games to go through (not counting those that appeared in the last few years, not old enough) and they put that thing? Sure, it's much better than 1849 (or whatever it's called, a piece of junk that should never have been added on GOG), but it's still not a good and even less old game. Please, GOG, stick to GOOD OLD GAMES! Let Steam get stuck with crappy or very ordinary games instead of you and keep your money to buy licenses of GOOD and OLD GAMES... otherwise, might as well change your name to STEAM B... :(
Unusual but nice looks to the game. Story is extremely short, even if you save everyone. Not much worth in replaying, even to see other storyline so short and with the abrupt dry endings they have made. No quick travel or running stretches the game uselessly, and it's annoying. Tiny game world, few maps, few locations to visit, few things to do. Everything seems to be forced upon you, you have no freedom of choice except maybe in some conversations. Linear in terms of movement. It's on GOG and it still has some bugs (random crashes, visual bugs, etc.). Looks like an amateur's game that should go on Kongregate than here on GOG. Speaking of which, why is this on GOG in the first place? It's neither old nor good. Would be nice if you could leave the junk and ordinary games to Steam and other site like that. Game is extremely short, and should be free on the web to play, and certainly NOT 10$+ to buy... not even worth 5$. I mean, 25$ for 2 to 3 hours of gameplay when I can get Skyrim for less? COME ON! This is game ain't worth a penny! Really, don't buy this! Get NWN, Baldur's Gate EE, or something else, but not this!
Better than the first 5 min ultra-linear campaign that they made with the game (LAME!) It still feels linear and much like the original campaign... a bunch of combat arenas with no role-playing in it (No shadowrunning at all!). Feels like playing a turn-by-turn diablo with a spirit world (data world). I don't recommend buying the original game, if you are part of those who got screwed with the game, buy this at the lowest price possible... these guys are not worthy of any of our money.
Hi! Just want to say not to buy this game. It's not worth more than 5$, and 99% of that 5$ goes to FASA, because the game designers did nothing in this game. The game lacks animations (example: Thrusts are executed as swings), creativity, depth and replayability. No matter what choices you take, it's the same story over and over. Also, for 2.4 millions of dollars, I think you can do a much better game... just look on Kongregate (or Pre-Paradox Mount and Blade for example) they have much better games that haven't cost much to make (no more than a few hundreds or thousands) and I am not talking about crappy MMOs here. Finally, this game is just a bunch of successive combat arenas. IT IS FAR FROM A ROLE-PLAYING GAME!!! No role-play in this game, just combat. It's basically an arena game with a story. BORING!
