If you have "played" the game "To the Moon" and thought that had too little playing mechanics - this has even less. It is mostly cinematic with occassional walking with no texts - all small communications are shown as little pictures. Still, this is nice story that lasts around 1 hour. Not anywhere as emotional and captivating as "To the Moon", it feels more like side project, which it probably is in the end. Though person you control in this game is client in "Finding paradise". For what it is and with beautiful soundtrack, i have no regrets.
To put it short and simple, this is more like an short experience to see through than game. I think story is clever and enjoyable take on final wish before death; find reasoning behind the wish, how it develops and if that wish will ever be fulfilled. This is one of those stories which you must see through at least once during your lifetime.

While game has certain charm in it and does all its aspects well enough to play it through, there is not anything exceptional or new. You will jump, double jump, have attacking crow and couple different weapons to use. Game also includes some different minigames, which work more or less as they should. They are pretty easy but as is the game as whole, why i think this would be good game for someone having first look at these kinds of games. Game took me around 5 hours to complete with collectibles. Normally i would think that length is short, but with Pumpkin Jack it felt just right. It is good game for what it is.

The story you get to experience with this game is simply amazing. There will be laughs, crying and really engaging story that will captivate. Even if someone finds supernatural side in story focused games a bit boring, this will provide you with slice of persons life that will all make up for enjoying it nevertheless. Keyboard and mouse is not recommended for this game and even with controller game tends to be rather clumsy regarding movement. Personally i dont find QTE events difficult or unfair, but i also played game through with controller mainly so experiences might vary depending on your choice. This is definitely a game that anyone who enjoys great story should play at least once through their life.

While i feel game does have that little charm in there which could provide the game to be classic RE like experience, it unfortunately quite does not reach that pleasant level. As per writing there is not real rewarding reason to explore the environment, camera is real pain (there is "free" moving camera behind the character that does not respond well and fixed camera points, but i feel game should have just either one available since currently it is unresponsive and a bit messy) and visually some would argue it is slightly.. well, i do not want to use word ugly but cant think of anything else right now. Also difficulty wise, in first playthrough you can choose between story and intended difficulties. After completing game once you unlock one more difficulty option to use. I played once with intended and i feel there were way too many healing items and weapon ammunition lying around - latter which might be cause i mainly meleed most of the enemy types, so that is arguable. Overall atmoshpere felt kind of nice, but empty and mostly uninteractive world mashed it for me. VA and music were also nice and fit the overall mood well. Lets just end this with that if there ever will be some sort of sequel, that might be true predecessor for RE like games. This one? There are better alternatives available for this kind of gaming experience. I am not disappointed with the game, but also fail to see all the praise. Try it out, but do not expect too much.

Game is basically auto-walk simulator while pressing space or arrow keys from time to time, so do not expect any action packed adventure game here. What you will get however is quite lighthearted and fun experience in office where saying "no" is like a curse word. Completing the whole game took me around 3 hours and there is not much you can do to affect that. Listening what NPCs have to say is best way to enjoy this and will provide you some funny interactions.

This is rather enjoyable game for what it is worth regarding gameplay and characters. I tend to think it weighs down for being a bit on lighthearted RPG side, but not necessarily in negative way. Scenes are all voice-acted, there is nice flow with how everything progressess and okay amount of equipment you can accuire. There are minigames to spend your time with and exploration felt mostly rewarding in regards of finding chests off the path. You can have 6 characters on combats (excluding attendants and support) and on top of normal attack you can also choose to use skills/magic, items or special Hero combos where multiple characters use their turn for powerful attack. Combat is interesting and varying enough to keep it nice to smash combat encounters instead of fleeing (or using auto-battle) all the time. Story was interesting enough and character variety is enjoyable, tho i had difficulties to choose sometimes who i actually want into my party next. There may be some sentences some specific characters would say on certain situations, but as far as i found out, nothing too major is missed since all the current story relevant characters are "locked" into your party in a way they are with you, let it be active combatant or attendant (meaning "passive" character in party). Then we have already mentioned bugs and localization issue. In terms with bugs, my main issues were recruitment bug and refresh rate bug that will affect random encounters. Localization... yeah, it can be easily told there were liberties taken. There are multiple instances where characters are saying something that feels very off and even breaking the situational tension game otherwiser managed to build. Where i think it is rather aggressive to make 1 star reviews only based on localization, i also cannot just let it slide as "minor nuisance". I really like the game and cannot wait for the DLCs. But bugs and localization are both something that needs to be checked and corrected in some way.

Okay, so I have actually never before played this game. Grabbing this version from GOG is my first experience with Alpha Protocol. While in degree aiming took some time to get attuned to (longer you aim, more accurate shot/critical hit, also note distance) and stealth was at first bit like gambling to understand how it all works, I genuinely enjoyed playing game through. Also aiming and stealth aspects are quite easy to manage after the mechanic clicks with you. As for discussions and choices, they do have some impact on how the story develops and progresses. Depending on your choice of what to do first and where will have their own spices for conversations which was very nice. Ultimately I guess there are couple different main endings (with bunch of different, slight variations). This is also one of the very few games I started new playthrough after finishing it first time, taking different stand with people and seeing new boss fights, facing completely new events... I really am enjoying this, nevertheless of some clunkiness and small bugs here and there. Definitely recommend for anyone who can withstand some.. oddities from yesteryears and can enjoy outdated mechanics/graphics.
