I really enjoyed the story, it's definitely got a lot of the vibe of a fallout game but it feels very different to play. the weapons and armour sets are very cool and the companions were fantastic although i mostly stuck with the first two. there is lots to do and explore, stealth felt fun. and the worlds look great. The dlcs were really fun and i particularly loved murder on eridanos although i'm glad that i played eridanos after peril over gorgon. started playing regular version of the game then moved saves to spacers choice version. definitely go with the spacers choice version as performance is significantly better with fsr while still looking great. some stuff will hopefully be improved in outer worlds 2 though - not a fan of the save/sleep/fast travel restrictions of supernova, would love it otherwise - I'd like to see more variety in the enemies, more species etc. - the item info popups in your inventory are very annoying and make it hard to see what you're doing when managing inventory as half the items are always covered. - no item sorting options for personal container? they have it in normal inventory and when trading so odd that it's not there - messing with loads of items in inventory at one time and between companions caused some weird bugs for me (rarely companions would randomly equip a different outfit or weapon when you equip something on another companion) and armor values being wrong when upgrading which was more common) - fast travelling to a location with an active quest is annoying as it always wants to show you what quest is there not select where you want to go even if you zoom the map in all the way
one of my favourite games of all time, used to play on console and the experience is much better on PC, easy to move saves from ps3 (and i assume Xbox) to use as well, made the mistake of buying this game on steam (their version didn't work with windows 10) after buying the GOG version it worked fine, really glad they're keeping this fantastic game playable, I had a small problem with micro-stuttering but that was fixed by following a guide by Lurpsukka on the steamcommunity discussion page which suggested changing (IFPSClamp=0) to (IFPSClamp=60) and making sure (iPresentInterval=1) in the .ini file (don't include brackets)
I thoroughly enjoyed the game, warmastered edition does look a lot better, the only issue I've come across is that the 1080p cutscenes in the warmastered edition are in 5.1 and for some reason will not sum to stereo, this means that while you hear dialogue within the cutscenes perfectly with headphones on, explosions and various sound effects sound kind of like removing the front left and right speakers from a surround sound system with strange panning (in game audio levels checked and tested with bluetooth headphones and wired headphones using my audio interface and motherboard audio, all had the same issue, in game audio was perfect) if you have this problem, look online and you can download the "fixed" videos and just replace them with the ones in the videos folder of the game (there are about 60 video files in the games video folder, the download will contain the 56 you need to replace, if you don't want to download them the same place that has the download will show you how to modify your existing ones, alternatively you could use the old 720p videos and they should work fine but it's a shame to not take advantage of the improvements the 1080p cutscenes give you would be 5 stars but it was irritating to have to mess around with it, probably fine if you're using a 5.1 system or surround sound headphones
