This game should be called Alchemist of Hours instead lol, the crafting system is way more flexible than Cultist Simulator. It feels very satisfying to abuse the crafting mechanics to get whatever you want out of thin air. Heck, this game could also be called Game of Hours, it's very addicting to play with if you're a fan of crafting genre. Literally 10h of my (weekend) day wasted (in a good way) on playing this game. Overall, Librarian Simulator is a pretty neat game, the only drawbacks are probably the UI (the cards, AYEEE), and how I always forgot to read about the lore due to always experimenting on new crafts. 8.5/10, need more moths
Alchemy of Hours: You're basically experimenting things (literal), mix-matching until you discovered something new, by late phase of the game you know how to exploit the recipes to get what you want. Reading recipe from wiki or somewhere really spoils half of the fun for the game, so DON'T SEARCH FOR RECIPE ONLINE IT IS NOT WORTH IT. Compared to Cultist Simulator (CS) this game's crafting mechanic is a huge improvement as it is more complex and flexible than CS. The only downside for this system is that sometimes you might accidentally skipped the book's lore when you're trying to discover new recipe. --- Game of Hours: If you enjoy the game, each game session would take literal hours, everytime you try to stop playing at some point after achieving X, when you achieved X, you'll realize that what you've discovered can be used to create Y, and you will tell yourself, "Imma do this for one last time", before you realize, hours is gone, this is truly a game of hours. 3rd day playing this game, already on 36h, haven't even come close to finishing the game, yet. While you can bruteforce your way to the end, it is better to take it slowly, pretty immersive. Though, immersive as in you actually have to take note IRL due to the sheer amount of recipes the game offers. --- This is the "meh" part of the game, if you're expecting for: - lore about hours (it's more about something else that i can't spoil) - a clean ui then you might be disappointed --- Overall 8/10
Disclaimers: - I didn't buy this game on this platform - I never played the original version before --- Pros: - Nice writing - Many story branching - Encourages solving a situations in many ways* Cons: - Short experience for the price - Need to tweak graphics settings due to random texture pop-ups - Most quests are fetch quest - There is no other ways aside of the ones developers prepared* - Many "major" decision doesn't matter much in the end Overall, it was fun while it lasted. Could get it during a sale.
