Great game, but it is hit or miss as to whether you can get it running on your pc. Issues are rendering, file paths being incorrect, all the way to a missing font on your pc. Good luck, use the forums, and expect to do a lot of technical digging if it doesn't start the first time.
I haven't looked over GoG's bug fixes but: Warning: the game is very buggy, this is one boss in the game you might actually be forced to use a cheat in order to beat due to his skill crashing the game. that aside... Review: This game is a solid, long, and epic rpg. (I sat down during my middle school years and played this for an entire summer and still didn't manage to finish it). The combat is challenging, the game takes thought, the characters are well written, the story is fun, and (imo most important) the world is fresh and interesting. I highly recommend playing this game because for all its technical flaws, the story and characters make it worth while to push through and enjoy the rest of the game.
