It's an adventure game about saving the world. I liked the game, but not sure if I would recommend it as your first adventure game (be sure to play the first part). The puzzles sometimes are not quite clear. Furthermore I'm not sure about Nina's character. Sometimes she acts as a damsel in distress and other times she act as a heroine. Confusing, but overall an enjoyable experience.
I have played some adventure games before and so I thought the game was decent. I thought the story was okay. Puzzles were a bit hard. The only thing I didn't like was the voice acting the game had. Sometimes a voice actor spoke the first line quieter and the next line louder. But for the rest I enjoyed myself. I can't wait to play the sequels to it.
I played the original and the director's edition before, so I was a bit hesitant whether to buy this edition. I 'm glad that I did. It's the same game as the original edition. Same story and same gameplay. That hasn't changed. But I like the improvements, the images are so much sharper than before. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't played an adventure game before.
I finished the game just now. I finished playing the first two games a few years ago, hoping that this game was the same as those. It was a little disappointing, though I can see room for improvement and I enjoyed myself. The controls are one of the things that frustrated me the most, it's not often that I complain about something like this in an adventure game, it feels like the game was made for consoles. Clicking on your destination sometimes work and sometimes don't. A few times I even had problems with the camera as it wouldn't move like it should. So I needed to load the game from an old save file to continue. Luckily it saves automatically, so it wasn't that far but still. I'd rather prefer the static images of the first two games. Beautiful areas as well. This is something than can use a lot of improvement. Then the second part the voice acting. As many already told, the voice acting doesn't add up. An old man with a young man's voice. That doesn't add up. found it even more disappointing that the lines of text don't match up with the subtitles. Sometimes a word is missing, or even a whole chunk of dialog. Also especially in the beginning I noticed that the mouth's of the NPC's didn't match with the text. But to end with a positive term, I'm glad they got the original voice actor for Kate Walker again. Oscar's voice actor has been replaced, at first it was a bit getting used to, but in the end I liked him. The graphics are nice for the game, I think that's the reason they went for the 3d. At one point in the game there was a bit of problem with lightning, but it looked good. Then the story. It continues the story of Kate Walker helping the Youkols again. It was good, though I wished they show more of how Kate is dealing with the situation. The music is very good too. If I have to summarize, if you're a fan of the first two, you need to play this game. The story will help you go through it with the music. I hope the next part will be even better.
When I bought the game, I half expected it to be similar to like Deus Ex considering the setting and the main character. Now that I finished playing it, I can say it's not exactly the same and it shouldn't be. It's a fine game on it's own. I had a lot of fun playing the game. Seeing the awesome locations and the interesting characters you meet is nice. Especially the side-quests, it gave me that witcher 3 vibe. Not a 'get me x amount of that', but a story behind every side quest. That's what makes a game interesting. Also nice that in some side-quests you get to make different choices how a quest turns out. Really cool. A downsider point is the character building. I noticed that during my playthrough I had to become something of everything, a hacker foremost, an assassin and with some types of enemies a straightforward fighter. But perhaps it's because of my gameplay. Another point that I didn't like but is constructive feedback is that the main character only speaks during the cutscenes. Perhaps because of budget reasons, but it would be even better to have the main character's portrait pop up and with her speaking out the lines you select. To make you bond some more with the main character. Looking back I can say this is a must have for every gamer that likes 2D action games and making meaningful choices. From an indie game developer I didn't expect this amount of quality.
Once upon a time I decided to finally play the expansion pack Blood and Wine I bought with the season pass. That moment however was a few months ago. Back when I decided to start with the DLC I didn't realize this DLC was this huge. Toussaint is a huge playground to play in, wth the usual side quests you expect of CD Project (meaning there is a story behind every one of them). The story is intriguing and makes you want to carefully consider your choices as they can affect the outcome of the game. In other words this is no DLC, this is an expansion pack like in the days of old. You don't pay for just a few hours of extra playtime, you pay for days possible even weeks. So if you have the opportunity (and the time) to play this, I would recommend doing so.
