This game was originally supposed to be a physical boardgame that interacted with a computer game + Minis/cards. I actually have a protoype of the board and minis/cards that used to somewhat interact. I backed it at a frankly insane amount of money and it ended up being never finished and handed off to another company that just pushes out products in the hopes of selling anything. It doesn't even work- the game is broken and won't let you progress past a certain point. It's a scam, don't buy it.

I have this on Steam and am considering getting it here as well just to support the devs. 3v1 local multiplayer. 1 is the hero who is a bit more robust than the monsters (3). Your friends try to kill you so that they can become the hero and you all together roam through dungeons in an attempt to upgrade, kill, and ultimately escape the dungeon... or be consumed completely by the unknown horrors at the end. So much fun, frantic but fair game.

To me this is the next incarnation of Galactic Civilizations- which is exactly what it set out to be. I don't understand all of these negative ratings that have to do with elements of the game that have never been a part of the series. Combat, yes, it's dull and you don't control the ships directly, you never have been able to, but the designs you implement do make a difference in the outcome of the combat, so... what were you expecting from a 4x game? DLC? I bought the ultimate edition... haven't paid an extra dime since, just get free dlc's now... so if you wanted to buy the full version you have to pay for the full version, otherwise you have to pay for the dlc... Bottom line, if you liked the first 2 GalCiv's you'll probably like this one, if you don't like the first 2 then you probably won't like this one. The gripes about ui/not-realtime combat/techtrees etc are moot since they haven't deviated from their original formulae
